What controller does this adapter use? Is it compatible?
The Sabrent USB Type-A / Type-C to 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter uses the Realtek RTL8156B controller. Check your device's compatibility to see if it will work, for example with a Nintendo Switch.
Is the product made of plastic or metal?
The adapter's body is aluminum and therefore more rugged than plastic.
Does the adapter only run at 2.5GbE?
Actual connection speed is negotiated based on the device and cable being used. For example, performance may be limited by an older USB 2.0 port. Cables that properly follow their specification (CAT5e or higher) should handle the maximum speeds at up to at least 100 meters.
Does this adapter have optional feature support?
The chipset used in this adapter does support some optional features, such as PXE booting.
