Introducing the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer 2

Sabrent announces the highest performance and highest capacity PCIe 4.0/Gen4 storage solution with the Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer 2

Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer 2

Many of our readers have no doubt seen the previews and reviews for our past high-capacity champions. The Rocket Q Battleship, using our 8TB Rocket Q SSDs, and the Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer, which uses our 4TB Rocket 4 Plus SSDs, have both been showcased at TweakTown. Now the combination of capacity and speed - 64GB of fast TLC - is available in our Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer 2. This is twice as capacious as the original! You can see the review here for more details.

The Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer 2 is built on the HighPoint SSD7540, a x16 PCIe 4.0 RAID card featuring eight independent M.2 slots with a Broadcom Gen4 PEX switch. Additional power is supplied via a 6-pin VGA power cable at the end of the card. Emplaced SSDs are cooled by a solid, heavy-duty aluminum heatsink with thermal pads and active cooling through the use of dual fans. The overall PCB length is similar to that of a high-end GPU card.

The Rocket 4 Plus Destroyer 2 can be configured in various RAID configurations including RAID 0, RAID 1, and RAID 10. It's also possible to use the drives singly. The intended use cases for this storage solution are for content creation, as with 12K and 4K video files for editing or large graphics files, deep learning databases, bioinformatics, and much more.

HEDT workstations and servers with available x16 PCIe slots, preferably PCIe 4.0, are good candidates. Once the card is installed, install drives and then build your array and organize your volumes through the web-based management interface. The process is fast and easy. The entire card can be later moved to a different system for quick migration.

Our 8TB Rocket 4 Plus SSDs are also individually available.
