May I suggest that Sabrent look into picking up the defunct Drobo OS for one of it's 5 drive boxes.
My experience has been very positive for a Drobo DAS using the highly user-friendly and unique ability to combine drives of different sizes into one pool of storage using a technology called BeyondRAID. With Drobo, you get the benefit of data protection, easy expandability, and minimal configuration efforts.
The issue, no, PROBLEM, was the box. The drives were constantly being PUSHED out of the box. The retaining clip was diagonal from the drive's connectors, so minimal contact occured causing arcing, carbon oxidation, dust build up, and more. A good Sabrent box WITH trays that are PUSHED IN would solve most PROBLEMS.
A product like Stabilant 22A woul also help (a simple Pluronic that actually works by simply coating the contacts as an oxygen barrier, and metal deoxidizer). The Pluronic is used in the litho printing industry.
