I am about to purchase an HGST/WD Ultrastar hard drive that has the "Power Disable Function". The hard drive will not start if the SATA interface can't handle it. In desktops you can add an adatpter which won't reallt work using in this docking station I guess.
So it all comes down to if the USB Type C Lay Flat Docking Station support enterprise hard drives with the power disable function - does it?

@Stefano Giobbi I would have to test or ask the factory directly about this. What I can tell you is that our enclosure does pass 3.3V which, if I understand your query correctly, means that it would require modification for the drive.
