Product Features

Designed For PS5

Engineered to fit perfectly and easily into the PS5 SSD expansion slot: installation has never been easier on the PS5

Revolutionary Cooling

Made from high quality CNC aluminum, the Sabrent PS5 heatsink was designed to maximize cooling performance and simplify installation

Upgrade Your PS5

Rather than creating a heatsink that would only trap the heat in the metal cover, we designed a heatsink that replaces the native PS5 cover and benefits from natural airflow

Superior Build Quality

This SSD heatsink method also uses Sabrent's "sandwich" design which ensures even pressure throughout the SSD for consistent heat transfer

World's Fastest SSD

Our legendary Rocket SSD lineup has a drive for everyone. Want up to double the bandwidth a PCIe 3.0 drive can provide? Want to guarantee you get quality hardware inside? Do you want a drive that will work in a PC, console, enclosure, and everything in between? Then the Rocket 4 Plus is for you - an updated version of our popular Rocket NVMe 4.0, designed to further push the limits of PCIe 4.0.

Don’t settle for PCIe 3.0

Have a new motherboard that can handle PCIe 4.0? Supercharge your experience with a Gen4 NVMe SSD. The future is only getting faster, and the Rocket 4 Plus tests even the boundaries of PCIe 4.0.

Get tried and true hardware

Our Rocket 4 Plus comes with TLC and DRAM to make sure you never suffer any performance pitfalls. We’re always working to keep the firmware and flash at the cutting edge. Be fast, day or night, and leave the competition in the dust.

Ready for computers and consoles

The Rocket 4 Plus utilizes an eight-channel controller to reach speeds of up to 7,100 MB/s, more than enough to meet any storage challenge. A lot of speed goes an even longer way.

Does the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus replace the PS5 SSD?

The Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus doesn't replace the SSD inside your PS5 but expands the storage via Sony's purpose-built SSD expansion slot. This isn't a hack or a modification, just a relatively easy upgrade. The reason you would expand the SSD internally rather than running an external SSD via the USB ports is because you cannot run PS5 games directly from these USB drives but you can run PS4 games from them.

Should I even run a Heatsink at all?

We strongly advise you use a heatsink, even Sony themselves have made this recommendation and we agree from our tests.

Can I install two heatsinks?

If you have an SSD with a built in heatsink, this must be removed. You cannot install two heatsinks with our Sabrent PS5 Heatsink.

Is it easy to install?

The PS5 is a mass consumer device. For some users, they are already nervous about taking off the lid and we didn't want users to go through building a heatsink around their SSD with a bunch tiny screws and we definitely do not think elastic bands are a good way to mount
an SSD Heatsink like we have seen on the market!
So to combat the thermal issues and to make the installation process easier, after a few iterations and lots of tweaking it, we of course come up with this design and it worked great. The Heatsink replaces the metal cover, you can not install both. This Heatsink uses our sandwich design which we use on almost all our SSD enclosures to ensure good pressure on the SSD for optimal heat transfer.
