So I bought 2 of the docking stations from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LS5NFQ2/ref=ewc_pr_img_1?smid=A29Y8OP2GPR7PE&th=1) and when ever I start downloading anything to the drives connected to the drops it kills every USB on my PC and I honestly don't know why
@zacharygellner14 This docking station is designed to use its own power supply, specifically for 12V that's required for larger HDDs rather than USB's 5V. So USB should only be the data interface, although USB power settings in the OS or UEFI might impact this. Alternatively, there's an issue with the host USB controller, possibly fixable with a firmware or driver update. If this docking station has this issue on other systems and operating systems then it could be a power supply issue that shows up with load.
@Sabrent So this started happening after upgrading my PC, I just genuinely don't know how to fix it or how to download the firmware or drivers. I also wouldn't even know where to begin to look for the settings in my OS or hell I don't even know what UEFI is. I'm just trying to get this fixed asap because these drives and docks are essentially useless and or bombs that wreck my whole PC whenever a download starts
@zacharygellner14 The UEFI is also known as the BIOS. It's used to set some advanced features on the system. You can get drive information with various software such as CrystalDiskInfo. Make sure to try other ports and if possible cables, too.
