I put a Samsung QVO 870 4tb SSD in a Sabrent clear 3.0 and the SATA connection failed only after 2 months of use. I lost EVERYTHING on the drive. Luckily, I switched it over to the black case I already had for my 2tb enclosure and the system found the 4tb drive again.. For a $10 enclosure, I am not going to cry to tech support over this. for a $390 4tb SSD... I will raise unGodly hell for an SSD to fail only 2 months out of the box.

Bought this for an old SanDisk 500 gb ssd removed from my pc.It looks nice, snapped together with no problem.Used it with my Windows 10 desktop, laptop and an Ipad mini with adapter.Nice product and very nice price point.Comes with free Acronis software as well.Buy it, you won't be disappointed

Only problem is it messes with my wireless keyboard and mouse when in use on my laptop.

So glad I got this. Going to get more for the couple of other drives I have laying around. Was easy to install, PC pick it from the USB with ease. Able to swap drives when need to. The case protect drive. I move a lot of photos and it never got hot.

We needed this to explore some of our old laptop hard drives and it did exactly that. The clear plastic was cool but a bit brittle. It didn't break on us but its something I am aware of

Once I broke the sliding cover to get it off I inserted my SSD and this product works great.

The item arrived well before it was promised, and comes packaged very elaborately and securely. The actual hard disk enclosure looks quite solid and does not flex or bend when pressed by hand. There is a single-sheet user manual that explains how to open the enclosure, install the hard disk inside and close it again. The instructions were easy to follow, and the hard disk fits securely and snugly inside the enclosure. My laptop recognized the external disk instantly and there were no problems using it after that.The inclusion of an on/off button on the enclosure is unique. I have used other brands, and I have never seen one with such a feature. Overall, a very good purchase, and highly recommended.

Had recently found out about external hdd/ssd enclosures being a thing and had a few old hdd's laying around in my house with files saved on them still but thought connecting them directly to a new PC was the only way. knowing now that these exist, I was able to get so many of my old files and now have them on my new system. It worked just as described with no issues. My only gripe however is that the small foam inside to help keep the drive and a stable position was too big and I ended up having to remove it to get it to fit inside. Aside from that, Everything else was pretty easy and I'm glad I made the purchase when I did.

Good product, works as described, easy to install, but I have no idea why would they place that strange on-off button that keeps me asking myself if the drive has failed or something because I just forgot to turn it on. There is a potential risk of data loss if you accidentally turn off the drive while it is writing. Otherwise, great case, nice looking, easy to install, works as described, I read and write at 400MBPS+ with an SSD.

And happy that this one is "Tool Free" because sometimes you get very tiny screws to use.Needed to replace my dead SATA 2.5. Luckily only the PC thought of the drive as dead because I was able to use two of these to clone my old drive to a new drive with the Acronis for Sabrent download.Just installed the old drive in one, the new drive in the other, plugged into a PC and started the software. It found both drives and did its thing.I actually cloned two drives. One was a WD SATA and the other was a WD SSD in the SATA case.My other Sabrent enclosures are two 3.5 IDE and a 2.5 Sata 2.0USB that still work well. But the 2.5 has those darn tiny screws!

Very easy to install the drive into it and it's just plug and play after that. The box feel real sturdy despite feeling plasticy. But overall, great product!

I’ve had many ssds and hard drives collecting dust in my closet because I had no use for them at the time. This enclosure was able to turn those into some very good External Hard drives for either my PC, or my gaming consoles. The drives sit very snugly in the enclosures with no rattling or shifting.

Put it together in seconds then up and working; became a start up disk with no problems when re-installing operating system…no problems.

I've purchased a number of these over the years.Positives: Quick, easy, tool-free assembly and disassembly. Universal connecting USB cord is used instead of a proprietary model. On/Off switch is a nice feature.Negatives: USB connection is sometimes inaccurate and is prone to get worse over time. Build quality of the housing gets the job done generally, but becomes loose and needs to be re-tightened or the connection will fail. Failed connections can lead to data loss.In summary - if you plan on backing up a drive and keeping this in a box to access once a month, this will do you just fine. If you are going to use your external drive daily or weekly - consider getting something more solidly built.
