This adapter can handle up to 5Gbps (5GbE) network speeds with compliant cabling and network equipment, but is backward compatible with multi-gig (2.5GbE), 1GbE, Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) and regular Ethernet (10Mbps) connections.
We’ve made this for USB Type-C ports to support newer machines, although Type-A adapters will work. For the best performance, use 10Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 2x1) or faster ports with CAT 5e or better cabling for performance at 100m or more.
