I just set up two DS-SC5B 5 bay drives. The first is connected to the USB 4 port on a Minisforum M1 Pro-125H and the second is daisy chained off of the first. I'm running Windows 11 and using Stablebit's Drivepool software. After chasing all sorts of strange behavior, I finally figured out that whatever drives are in the daisy chained DS-SC5B are showing up twice in Windows. Disk Management in windows immediately pops of a dialog telling me I need to initialize the disks (I actually did this once to experiment--that was a mess).
Basically, it doesn't matter what disks are in the daisy chained controller, or how many of them there are. If there's 1 disk, it's shown twice in Windows, if there's 5 disks, those are all shown twice. Any idea what's going on here and how I can fix this?
Possibly unrelated, but on two occassions all drives in the DS-SC5B enclosures disappeared from the OS for 20-30 seconds, then slowly reconnected. Hopefully that's not reoccurrant behavior.
