Back in late 2020, numerous tech news sites (https://www.pcgamer.com/sabrent-is-close-to-launching-a-massive-capacity-16tb-ssd-for-consumers/, https://www.techradar.com/news/the-worlds-largest-laptop-ssd-will-be-a-16tb-model-from-sabrent, etc.) announced that Sabrent was getting ready to release a 16TB 2.5" SATA SSD. That turned into vaporware until mid-2022 when Digital Trends (https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/a-huge-16tb-ssd-is-coming-soon-but-theres-a-catch/) and techradar (https://www.techradar.com/news/16tb-m2-nvme-ssds-wont-be-coming-any-time-soon-heres-why) announced that the 16TB SSD had been held up due to controller issue but the issue had been resolved and would be releasing soon. So far, since then, nothing.
What is the latest status on this product? I'm sure I'm not the only one that has a need for this large of an SSD (in my case, I could use either 2.5" or m.2 NVMe although 2.5" would be preferable).

@JEANNIE CREWSON I'm told that we are still working on this but hit some snags with a supplier and enterprise qualifications.
Any guesses when these might drop?
@JEANNIE CREWSON It's effectively on hold for the forseeable future due to market conditions and enterprise requirements. We have more 8TB NVMe drives plotted out but the flash isn't there yet for 16TB but we are shooting for it.
I had built two systems in anticipation that some good 16 TB SATA SSDs (with 10^17+ UBER and OPAL SED support) would be available so I could pop 14 of them into my enclosure. Then Solidigm announced their 61.44 TB as a 15 mm thick U.2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and now it’s available for purchase for a mere $3,700, instantly making 16 TB in a 7 mm thick SATA SSD no longer competitive in terms of density. 16 TB SATA SSDs had also already been uncompetitive in terms of $/TB ever since it came out. Currently, competing 16 TB SATA SSDs sell for upwards of $2,400, while a 32 TB-class PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD could be gotten for $1,800. I can see why it does not make sense to release such a product. If it’s this pricey to put a product like this together just to for a small profit margin, then it has an incredibly small market. The cost needs to go much lower, and the density needs to catch up to 32 TB/7 mm.
