USB 3.1 Type-C 2.5"-3.5" HDD Docking Station

Excellent to mount HDD and/or SSD via USB to your computer.It comes with this cable: USB-B (to connect to the dock) to USB-A (to connect to the computer) - (NOT "USB-C" as some people wrote) of 0.8 meters approx.And of course, an AC Adapter (Universal 100-240V 50/60hz) with cable of about 1.2m.I use it on a 230V @50hz country, so I use a plug adapter.I even connected the included USB 3.0 cable to a USB 3.0 extender ("Amazon basics" brand, good quality) and I got about 200MB/s transfer speed.The duplication/copy of a full 250GB HDD (operation done BY THE DOCK, NOT CONNECTED TO COMPUTER) took around 45 minutes.SUMMARY: EXTREMELY USEFUL and affordable accessory without any doubt.

The very definition of plug-and-play.

Better than any casing as it provides hot swap HD and SSD capability. Built in cloning without the need for any extra software is great. Only downside is that only two drives can be used at a time.

This did exactly what its intended for, I didn’t use the cloning feature built in. I connected it to my mac mini and inserted a 2.5 inch spinning hard drive to use as a time machine back up. I did have to buy a usb-c to usb-a connector. I used an Anker brand adapter and got full read/write speeds on the spinning hard drive.

It worked great for duplicating my Windows 10 settings & software to my laptop. It's a great device. Very pleased with this product.

Just a good quality work device. Sometime you start hear some vibration noise, if use HDD. With SSD quiet.

This allowed me to recover family photos from a failed external drive as well as use SSDs from other applications

A good SATA USB dock and passthrough hub. SATA docks are an essential for system builders and support technicians, since it facilitates working with failing drives, cloning drives, wiping old drives for disposal, etc.This model has several improvements over other versions I've used. Mostly notably a power switch (instead of always-on), passthrough USB ports, and the flap that minimizes the top opening (less dust gets in).These aren't typically the speediest interfaces, limited by both the onboard controller, and the upstream connection. Particularly if you chain it through another hub. But fast enough for the purpose.My version is the previous model without the USB-C connector, which is the only thing missing. It shows up in FreeBSD as a "GenesysLogic USB3.1 Hub".All hardware-centric PC hobbyists need a SATA USB dock, and this is a good one. Recommended.

It works. Nothing fancy

After many re starts and formatting the hard drive on another computer it seems to be working. I was able to clone a hdd to a ssd right out of the box. I was happy. then I went to format some SATA hdds and the head aches started. Computer would not see the attached hdd even though it showed up in the device manager. The Achronis software would not see the attached hdd. Changed some settings, did some internet searching tried different hard drives slammed my head against the wall. Ended up quick formatting a HD in the computer, then I put it in the external drive bay. And Bingo all is well. Formatted a second HD in the computer box, and just like the first the external drive bay works like it is supposed to do.Not sure of the whats and whys but with no manual, no phone number to call for a slap to the back my head and a simple quick solution this Lay Flat Drive Bay has been a pain in my rear end. Yes it works but only after a long argument hence the 3 starts.

The only reason that I gave an overall rating of four... is because I was shocked that the USB draw on my brand new iMac 27" Workstation USB ports... was so high that as soon as I plugged the Docking Station in... macOS Big Sur told me it was shutting down my USB ports because of high current draw. This actually shocked me because the Sabrent Dock has it's OWN power supply... so I also have a Powered 10 Port USB Hub... and when I plugged the 10 port hub into the iMac and then plugged the Sabrent into the Hub... everyone became happy. Transferred the data from 6 Toshiba SSD drives and a 2Tb external into the Seagate IronWolf 8Tb drive... fast and went like clockwork... Have not attempted to use clone function (yet) because I backup the 8Tb to a QNAP NAS

The product will hold either a 2.5 or 3.5 inch drive. I'm using it with a 2.5 inch SSD right now and it works flawlessly. It's easy to put together, and everything I needed was included in the box.

I own 3 of these docking station 2 since 2018 never had a problem with them well priced to.

It saves my old HDD disks, and also many photos.

I wanted to save the stuff from my old computer and add it to my new laptop while being able to toss all the hardware that would otherwise take up space from my old computer. With this station, I was able to do just that. Of course, it's better served if you have the long-term use necessary to keep accessing the same docs on the same hard drive, otherwise it may feel a bit like a waste of money once you've essentially "one and done" - ed it, but being able to move my documents and programs between computers was well worth the cost.

Despite some negative reviews, I decided to try this one and it worked well for me. I placed this on a flat surface and slid in the drive. Everything connected and worked as I expected. I've used it off and on for several months and had no problems.

Worked great as temporary access to removed hard drive. The case provides easy access to change hard drive, so very good for temporary use. Nothing locks the drive in place, so not good for permanent use of removed hard drive, which was my intent.

Recieved product on 10/5/21, product stopped working 11/3/21. Worked well when it worked. Refund or replacement not worth the hassel to me. Goning to try a different one and see how that goes.

I like it. I can add external hard disk to my computer. It can be well protected in side the nice box.

Worked great! My computer failed to start so I used this to repair the drive using another laptop! Perfect!
