USB Type-C Multiport HUB

He probado con otros más baratos que terminan con falsos contactos o de plano se descomponen a los pocos meses, este parece ser de mejor calidad. Lo compré porque el cable USB-C es intercambiable y se puede usar uno más largo o corto según haga falta, sin embargo, el que trae es como de 30cm de largo y fue más que suficiente para lo que necesito.

Purchased one of these to expand the amount of ports on my laptop. On paper, it seems like it has everything one would need - multiple USB 3.1, 2.0 ports, a USB-C port, HDMI, with (micro)SD and an ethernet port. Plus, the USB-C cord is detachable, so you can change it out for a longer cable or another USB-type cable.However, the unit I received was built to very low standards. All the USB ports were loose, and one of the pieces of the USB port fell out. I used a couple other Sabrent USB hubs in the past, but it seems as if they decided to cut corners to make the cheapest unit there is.

Can't complain about anything, works as described.

I plugged this into an old Intel Compute stick that only has USB 3.0 type A (the regular rectangular none) that would never have supported the HDMI out over USB. Can confirm that all ports other than the HDMI work great, so it's exactly what I wanted.Build quality is great. Aluminium casing feels very solid, you could hit this with a hammer, and it'd probably be fine.

Compact

I bought this as a replacement for my older hub which broke. It's been so far a great replacement. One of the issues I was having with my older one was it's cable, but this this one is thick and heavy duty and not to mention, detachable!The overall metal build is solid and sturdy, while still being light weight and compact (especially with that detachable cable). This goes with me in my laptop bag and is a great all-in-one laptop accessory.

I’ve been looking for a hub that provides many of the ‘exotic’ things – like card reader, Ethernet port and, even a few USB ports. The Sabrent 9 in 1 hub met that need.This was one of the few USB hubs that actually connected to the computer with a USB C port – most hubs use a USB A port for connection. I usually use my desktop computer (but sometimes use a laptop), and the issue of which type of connector often doesn’t matter, but at times when I want to take full advantage of USB 3.0, plugging this into a USB 3.0 port on the computer and, with a USB-C connector, connecting it to a hub helps assure that I can, possibly, get the highest possible performance from my hub.This hub is useful for some rather esoteric uses – read and write SD and MicroSD cards, HDMI and Ethernet, but if you need these connections, it won’t let you down.

Working from home with 2 screens and multiple peripherals. This compact device allows me to connect everything I need easily.

Sturdy case, works as expected

I have tested this USB C hub with both a Windows 10 laptop and my new Pixel 4a Android phone. It works with both platforms with some caveats on both. USB C ports seem to have a wide range of which features are supported via the port. For example, my Dell Win10 laptop is a current 10th gen Intel Core i7 CPU-based platform but the USB C port doesn't output HDMI to the hub from what I could find. I tried using the HDMI via hub with no success even when I could plug the same 1080 monitor into the laptop's own HDMI port without issues. The hub USB ports and SD card slots worked no problem (never tried ethernet jack).With my new Pixel 4a phone (Android 10 os), this hub lets me use the smartphone almost like a mini tablet. I was able to run a full size keyboard and wired mouse off the hub and even run power to the hub via second USB C port which charged my smartphone too. Essentially I could lay my smartphone on its side (landscape mode) and type/mouse on it like a mini tablet PC setup... very cool for those long txt responses.The hub itself appears very well made, case is solid metal and all the ports feel solid when plugging in USB cables, memory cards, or trying the HDMI cable. The hub itself is pretty thin so this might be an easy accessory to throw in your laptop bag to always have with you... especially if you rock one of these new ultra-thin W10 laptops with only 1-2 USB ports!Overall, this looks/feels/acts like a solid well-built USB C hub (note: never tried the RJ45 interface as everything I have uses wireless)

Review of Sabrent 9 Port USB Type-C Multiport HUB (HB-UHPN)The product description (and some reviews that copied and pasted the information) is slightly incorrect. There are two (2) USB 2.0 ports, not one (1).Speaking of ports on one side there are four ports consisting of two (2) USB 3.1 ports next to two card slots, one full sized SDHC which is located above a microSDHC slot. One the other side there are two (2) USB 2.0 ports, a full-sized HDMI port and an USB-C port. At one end there is an RJ-45 (Ethernet) port and at the other end is a USB-C port.The case and unit seem to be well made and there are feet or pads underneath each short side presumably made of Teflon and glued in place.This hub does not have an external power supply and draws power from the connected source (presumably a laptop) but no power rating for this hub is listed.Started testing all ports and found that both USB 3, both USB 2 and both SDHC ports worked. The one item of note is that the microUSB port requires inserting the microUSB card upside down plus the fit is a little tight and I would suggest using an adapter to full-size if possible.The USB-C port on the side did not work so I didn’t bother testing the HDMI and Ethernet ports.Contacted Sabrent and there were quick and courteous in response. I had to send the defective unit to them, at my expense, for them first to verify the problem before they will send a replacement. While I can understand the desire to verify problems before sending a replacement, making the consumer pay to return an out of the box defective device is wrong. This is holding the user responsible for the design, manufacturing, quality assurance and quality control failings of the manufacturer.EDIT: Although the replacement has not yet been received today I received a response that the side USB-C port does not transmit data and is power only. This is despite having reported that the problem was with attached USB-C devices not being recognized and a bullet that states "9 Port for all-in-one access to multiple devices through one USB Type-C connection." At best this is misleading advertising but false advertising may also be appropriate because this devices only has 8 ports that can access devices. Rating further reduced for this.

Currently have keyboard, mouse and memory card attached and it's working fine. The hub is quality built with an aluminum body. I also use it for charging without any issues.

I have been really happy with everything I have gotten from Sabrent. They make nice equipment, solid build, great design. I got this for my desktop which has only one USB port free but used it to gather much of what had been lost when my desktop died earlier this year. Between the variety of ports and card readers I was able to salvage a lot. It even enabled me to open some drives I could not open on either my desktop or laptop.It is small enough to fit in a pocket and built to last. I not only made multiple backups of photos I thought I had lost, but was able to salvage my music from an old player. My new desktop does not have a drive, so even though the music had been ripped from CDs it would have been hard to pull together to set up my new player. I was able to connect my old player, a hard drive and sd cards. The hub made it a lot easier than if I had to transfer everything to my computer first and then the player.I have gone through a lot to try to salvage what was on my drive and spent months working on it. In just an hour or two I had most of it collected from old drives, cards, tablet.. and this hub helped me pull it all together.

We really like this unit. It is small, easy to attach to your computer and at the same time allows you to add on things which are necessary, but also at a temporary basis for use with your laptop or desktop computer.There are times when you need to use this unit when you are on the go with the laptop so that you can plug in other USB items or additionally put in an SD card.Great unit and really worth the amount you pay. Highly recommend this item!

Nice aluminium finish, I use this for my iPad Pro and my desktop computer. It has all the ports I need. I would like to see more sabrent products like this in the future.

This USB hub has 9 ports: SD and Micro-SD car readers, 2 USB 3.1 ports (blue), 2 USB 2.0 ports (black), an HDMI 2.0 port supports 4K, an ethernet port, and a USB type-C pass-through.The two ports not commonly offered are the ethernet port and the HDMI port. I tested both, and both of them passed as shown!Pricewise, it is not the cheapest, but it is not the most expensive one, either, considering the types of ports supported. The hub itself looks good quality. The USB cable is thick and sturdy. Now all the ports are working. I don't see any reason not to give 5 stars.

I use this for my macbook pro and it is great, the device is hefty and really solid build quality. Don't let the price fool you, this is a PROFESIONAL device and it feels like it when you use it.

So far / 2 days in - it works exactly as expected. So, all good.

I hope laptops don't go the way of phones where they try to get rid of as many features for the sake of thinness. Computers are tools and if you can't use a computer to its fullest then it's not made correctly. Unfortunately, our family as a newer MBP and I'm constantly attaching this hub just to plug in USB devices, SD cards, and now a LAN cable since I'm trying to set up hotspots around the home.The ports for the USB and cards are fast, and I like that there are both dedicated 2.0 and 3.0 ports. I also like that there's a dedicated microSD slot, since most of my SD cards nowadays are microSD; if I'm multi-taskin' then I can place two cards, one with an adapter and one without.The LAN port is a bit sluggish in comparison. It takes a while to detect internet via Ethernet cable, and sometimes it spots out.

I use my laptops frequently. I record videos, audio and edit content. Having a good hub is important as computer manufacturers have started to limit USB ports and RJ45 jacks.I have 3 PCs I use hubs with:An Alienware R13 - Plenty of ports in weird places - 1 USB type CA Dell Rogue 7386 - No RJ45 - 1 USB Type C - No SD card readerA Dell XPS13 9370 - No RJ45 - No SD Card reader - 1 USB slotEach one of these computers have their flaws when it comes to ports.This hub is made well, the cord that goes into the hub is the perfect length. Its lightweight at 6 ounces.I get fairly good transfer speeds out of this hub.The one thing I have not ever understood is why the manufactures do not lead these hubs up with 3.1 USBs with backwards capability. Yes I know some cables will not work with 3.1 to 2.0.Overall I like this hub.

There are zero instructions with this thing. Where do I plug in power? Maybe theUSB-C socket alone on the small side? And if I'm not powering it, then where doI plug in the laptop? Maybe this is just obvious to everyone but me, but I don'twant to accidentally fry my laptop. I'm going to the Sabrent.com page and Amazonlisting to see if there are examples how to hook it up. I can't find a picturesshowing "PD" (power delivery), although it's a claimed feature. It seems likethe USB-C port on the short side is meant for the laptop. The pics on Amazon donot show a power supply hooked up.Works fine in a non-powered mode: my Macbook Pro plugged in to the USB-C on theshort side, and using HDMI and a USB-A to connect to another USB bus.

YES!! Finally a dock with a full-size ethernet port and a removable USB-C cable.Really, this is perfect for me as an IT tech on the move.The dock is an aluminum block with ports on the four short sides.The ports on the four sides are2) 2.0 USB-A, HDMI, USB-C port for pass-through power1) Full-size ethernet port (not that little hinged port garbage that ALWAYS breaks)1) USB-C port to plug the dock into your computer2) 3.0 USB-A, a Full-sized SD, and a MicroSDThere are some things that make this a gem for me.-The ports, card reader, and ethernet port work with or without the additional USB-C passthrough. This means I can use it without having to get out the brick for my MacBook.-In addition to the note above I am able to read an SD Card, MicroSD, use an ethernet connection, and it still seems to have the power to run a portable 4TB drive all at the same time. I should note there is likely a power limitation that will vary from machine to machine but this works for me.-Because the cable is not fixed to the device I immediately swapped it for a six-foot USB-C cable. I like not being crowded when I am working on things in the field and in some cases, it is nice just to leave it velcroed inside my bag so I can just plug into it there.-I have experimented with success using a USB-C to USB-A cable to connect the dock to older hardware. I am still trying it with various things but I love this kind of flexibility. It seems to work this way connected to a Windows 10 PC as well. So far so good.-HDMI is great for impromptu presentations or testing video equipment.My only real gripe is that they didn’t make all the USB ports 3.0. I imagine this is for technical power consumption reasons. If I have to be honest, for a portable docking solution it is unlikely I will need to use more than a pair of 3.0 ports at a time in the field so I can live with that.Really, I love this thing. It has replaced at least two or three other dongles and is my new go-to road dock.

Everything worked for me. This is a RealTek GbE NIC that performed perfectly on its on or when all device slots were full.Large file copies over network was a solid/consistent 106 MB/sOn a high performance USB Stick (in USB3 port) I copied over a 1GB file in 4 seconds, a 4GB file in about 12-14 seconds, Windows meter showing 305 MB/s average.An SD Card was about 80MB/s on averageIt's a nice to go or quick solution dock, weighing only 130 grams. You could add power or test with your USB-C power brick, which did work for me.So a net new 130 grams in the laptop bag is worth having this utility around. If it had a display port I could use it as a home dock (but can't dock it for that). If priced right, 5 stars easily.

I tested this Hub out with my Zenbook pro duo and it did everything I needed it to. Really I would say that laptops today don't have enough ports (especially high end ones that are "powerful") but that isn't the fault of this product. It just "solves the problem" you could say.Every port on this device has worked fine over the last days (I even tested Ethernet) and had no issues. It does however get warm to the touch; but its not overly hot. Additionally it doesn't need any drivers (at least with the latest windows 10).I think this hub is both good looking and useful for any of us with a high end laptop that desperately need more ports. I mostly use this for the additional USB ports for external drives and such but things like ethernet come in handy (especially here at home).If this review helped you at all; please mark it helpful!
