Great SD card that can easily keep up with the speed requirements of modern cameras
This is an excellent memory card. It is very fast so it's perfect for video and action photography. The card also comes with a durable metal case that will protect the card when not in use. This memory card is an excellent choice that will ensure you have plenty of quality storage space.
I’ve been using a SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-I (rated for 95 MB/s) prior to this card. My old card recently started showing signs it might be failing. I ordered this Sabrent card as a replacement and I am getting similar read/write speeds (90 MB/s) unfortunately. It seems I won’t be able to get the benefit of this newer card’s increased bandwidth when transferring large files to my PC unless I upgrade my SDXC card reader. Keep in mind the reader you use may limit your transfer speed, because a lot of SDXC card readers out there won’t fully support UHS-II speeds. You need to look for SDXC readers specifically marketed for full UHS-II compatibility (i.e., end card readers) to support 280 MB/s (or higher with full duplex). I tested this card on three different readers including a 10 Gbps dock and unfortunately they were all UHS-I SDXC card readers.I don’t have any complaints; the card is working fine for me and I’m not getting any noticeable lag for my uses. I think for the majority of people (myself included if I were shopping at retail) the price premium going from UHS-I to UHS-II probably isn’t really worth it from a cost benefit analysis. Unless you’re working with high resolution videos and/or rapid stills, you’re probably just as well off with a UHS-I card for much less money. That being said, this card performs just find and I encountered no issues.
The SABRENT Rocket v90 256GB SD UHS-II is a Memory Card that actually has it's rated memory...It not only has the amount of memory it is rated to have it actually has even more... WOW...A memory card that is what it says it is and does what it says it can do... Wow...Looks good, feels good and did I mention it actually has the amount of memory it is rated to have and even has more and not less?P.S. I do wish the carry case was a little bit better but having said that it is overall o.k. I just wish it was a little bit better, not held together by a sticker.Overall though both of my thumbs are up and really high up on this review!Good day & God Bless...Randall M. RueffK9RMR
This Sabrent rocket SD card is rated v90 for sustained minimum 90 MB/s write speeds. As a result, it is a very good choice for high-end video applications and other demanding tasks. It comes in a small aluminum box. Be sure you camera supports UHS-II and that your tasks require v90 and won't be satisfied with a more affordable card before you shell out for one of these.
Got this to record more 4K footage on both my 5D IV and R5 cameras. It holds up great, and not one instance of stoppage while recording. On my integrated SD card reader on my HP Omen 15, I am getting mid-90s MB/s and high-80s MB/s for read and write speeds, respectively. On my Thunderbolt 3 docking station with an SD card reader, I am getting blazing speeds of 295 MB/s and 179 MB/s for read and write speeds, respectively. This card is QUICK. For speeds and reliability, I would definitely go with this card without hesitation.
While testing this SD card out, I put noticed it had another row of connectors but didn't think much of it. My SD Card reader only has the upper connectors and figured if anything it would at least be half the speed. On testing, I was only getting 90mbps read and 87 write. Kind of disappointing but this could totally be my reader. The card comes in a very nice metal box and feels nice in the hand. Just expected a little bit more speed but I will update this review once I try to find a reader capable of connecting all pins on the SD card.
Fantastic capacity and performance. Reliable speeds, works perfectly with my Nikon DSLR. The 256Gb of storage is perfect for shooting time lapse. Sabrent has yet to let me down - great price to performance ratio. Card also comes in a metal storage case for safe keeping.
This card had no problem burst shots on my Canon even at the highest resolution. This memory card also handled the high-resolution 4K video recording I challenged it with. This card is the real deal and transfer rates are over 200 megs a second with the USB 3.2 second generation. This is the fastest memory card I've ever owned. Even with USB 3.0 was getting over 100 megs a second transfer rates. Time is money in this card is worth every penny.
This is an excellent memory card. Not only is the storage space huge, in my test it was pretty close to the advertised speed in a UHS-II reader. It's much faster than my regular UHS cards (the ones that lack the extra pins on the back).I'm familiar with Sabrent for other PC accessories but this is my first memory card from them. It appears to be made in Taiwan, and feels like relatively high quality. Even the case it comes in seems top notch, a padded metal reusable box instead of the disposable plastic that my last few Sandisk Extreme Pro cards came in. I wish Sandisk would give a quality holder like this with their product! Very pleased.
I got one of these newly released high-performance SD cards for my camera, and it works great, so i also got this 128gb-capacity card for a trail-cam i have that needs this smaller capacity. It is giving me great high speed videos, recording at up to 250 MBps. Released on March 27, 2022.
Make sure you have a new reader, and latest usb. This shows it maxing out my older and usb 3. Pretty sure I will be getting even better speeds based off my latest test. Once my equipment arrives will update
I’m really impressed with the speed of this SD card. It is fast enough for 8k DCI 24 fps using BlackMagic’s uncompressed codec. Needless to say, those that need this for 4K capture won’t be disappointed. It maxes out the SD card interface on my new Macbook Pro with speed to spare. The card comes with a nice metal foam-lined carry case. There is the typical write protect tab which is essential for shoots. Overall, this is easily the fastest SD card I own and is my new default.
This card is very fast, I got about 85mB/s read and write on my standard USB 3.0 SD Card reader. I do not have a UHS-II reader so I cannot take advantage of the full speed of this card, but it works well for my use case, which is video capture. If you need a fast SD card where write speed is important, then this is a great card.
Used this in my Sony FX3 to record 4k60fps shoot that went for about an hour. Had no issues whatsoever. I'm going to give Sabrent a kudo here. You might see that the write speed is rated at 250MB/s while other brands like ProGrade is stated to write at 300MB/s. I have that ProGrade card and in my experience you don't ever reach that kind of write speed with that card. It's much closer to what Sabrent is stating. So in essence Sabrent is actually reporting the TRUE speed of the card while others might be fibbin' a bit. In this age of companies really stretching the truth about the stated specs of their gear, it is refreshing to see a company be a bit more truthful. The build quality of the card is just like most other higher end v90 cards. Only one that beats it is the Sont Tough series cards. Point being it's a solid built card and I haven't experienced a single issue in regards to the build of the card.Love that you get a nice metal case for your card. Makes it so I can just toss in my bag and not worried about the card getting damaged.Considering how solid the card is AND how Sabrent is stating the TRUE speeds of the card, this is going to be my go to v90 card from now on. Only thing I'd love to see is maybe just a $10 drop. Take cost out of the equation in your customer's buying decisions and I think they will have a huge winner on their hands.
I have a couple Nikon cameras I use for some very important videos and stills, so having a reliable SD card is a must. I formatted it in my camera and put it to use right away (with a backup going at the same time, just in case!), and was not disappointed. Pictures and video were captured with no noticeable issues. Downloads to the computer afterward were fast and equally flawless. The "ultra high speed II" (UHS-II) interface makes this card ideal for very high definition photos and videos. The price point for this card is also on par with other name brands in this space, which is more than the casual photographer needs but necessary if you're making a living at this.
