I got this for a camera, but have actually used it to hold up a laser level for hanging curtains. The bolt fits many items and I love that it does. It is easy to extend or adjust to get level or just right. It goes into its own padded carrying case. Very solid tripod.
It's great!
The Sabrent 56" Aluminum Tripod is exactly what every photographer or videographer needs. It’s lightweight (only weighs 5 pounds)and easy to transport with the included carry bag. It has three-section tripod legs that have two adjustable height flip lock controls. There are multiple integral bubble levels on the camera mount and allows you to level the tripod even if the terrain is uneven.A really interesting feature is the tripod can easily convert to a monopod by removing the center column. And this monopod even has a foam grip. We’ve used it to film a play, sporting events and family gatherings. I love the removable center that makes a monopod. This feature allows us to take just one tripod on our trips, so when we need a tripod, we have it and also a monopod. Great tripod, perfect for numerous occasions.Specifications:Max height: 56''.Max height column retracted: 46''.Folded height: 23''.Weight limit: 11 poundsSummary:(1) Sleek Aluminum Construction(2) Compact Lightweight Design of 5 lb.(3) Foam Grip on Monopod Leg(4) 360-Degree Panning Scale for Accurate Image Alignment(5) Quick Release Plate and Ball Head Joint System(6) Integral Bubble Level to Prevent Uneven Panning

If you're like me, you look out there at the world of options and you wonder, "Is it worth it to pay a little more?" After all there are a lot of inexpensive tripods ($30) including ones by AmazonBasics that are perfectly serviceable, and very light. I should know, because I own several tripods and use them for photos for work, although my photos are all pretty slapdash in quality, because I don't need great quality. To answer that question, I would say "yes". This Sarbrent is definitely worth the extra money. It is lightyears better than anything thats cheaper than it, and, i have to say, its a joy to use. I have 3 teenagers in the house and making videos has gone up in importance from "not at all" to "I do this with my iPhone" to "Dad, how can i get professional quality??!?" Of course, they don't say it like that but thats what they mean. They want it to look great. This sarbent has more ways you can level, adjust, and position your camera than i ever knew i needed. And its pretty quick at doing it too. In the past I was able to get most shots or angles with some effort, but here, its so easy.I really think its a great deal in its price range, and I'm happy to say "yeah, its a LOT better than the cheaper ones". And Perhaps my photo work won't be so slapdash any more :)
I've used the same tripod since the early years of digital photography. It's old, it's sturdy and reliable, but it's dang heavy and clunky to carry around. This tripod is just as sturdy and reliable, but it's a fraction of the weight! It also comes with a perfect carrying case.I have to say that my favorite part is the built-in bubble levels feature! This works great on uneven terrain so you can adjust the legs independently, yet still assure a level tripod for a perfect shot every time. You can also change this to a monopod quickly and easily, and it has a quick release plate to make setup and tear down faster.I'm so happy with this! Highly recommended for less weight and easy use!
I am very happy with the Sabrina tripod, and that it isn’t like other aluminum tripods that are very light in weight, although this is not heavy either, but has some weight to it.This is very sturdy and will not move on a windy day. It comes with every feature you could want. I especially like the level that helps you set up your camera for long shots. The rotation of 360 degrees gives you all the versatility you might need.It closes up to a size that is easy to transport. In all This tripod a thumbs up.5 stars
So the first thing I noticed was the musty smelling plastic bag that the tripod came in but I can't imagine my experience would be normal, it had no effect on my rating. Within a day there was no smell on the nice carrying case after getting rid of the plastic bag. A minor negative with the carrying case is the tripod can be a little tough getting in and out but that will probably get easier. The tripod is super nice. It is rock solid and no wiggle with the legs fully extended. The legs set to three angles. There are multiple leveling bubbles and everything functions very smoothly. Light weight is relative, it is light weight relative to some other tripods but not so light that you need to be concerned about a stiff breeze. Very highly recommended.
This isn't a professional grade tripod, but for the price it is perfect. Some tripods that cost under $100 have a problem with stability and can tip over when it is windy or if they are bumped. This tripod doesn't suffer from that problem. It is sturdy and stable. I've used it several times now in crowded and windy conditions and haven't had any problems with it shaking or tipping. The tripod seems to be well-made, strong, and durable. It is also small, light-weight, and easy to use. I've taken it on a couple of hikes now and it is much nicer to drag along than my professional tripod.I just take pictures as a hobby, but my wife is a professional photographer and she too was pleasantly surprised by the quality and stability of this tripod. For an $80 tripod it really can't be beat.
If you're in the market for a budget friendly hybrid tri/monopod, this is a decent choice. Having a two-in-on design makes it versatile for different situations when you may want to trade maximum stability (full tripod) for portability and mobility (monopod). However, there are cheaper, lighter options available which are probably better choices for a basic starter tripod.A good example is the AmazonBasics branded 63 inch model, which -- as of this writing -- is some $25 cheaper and just a hair lighter (although it uses inferior twist lock connectors). There are a plethora of other options available for budget conscious photographers which are just as functional as this model at lower price points if you shop around. At this pricepoint, you're also not far off from "branded" options including Nikon, Sony, Slik, and Manfrotto.
I have multiple tripods that I use for various things but was looking for a new lightweight travel tripod. Normally I go for 84 inch tripods but these are a little on the bulky side to carry around. Weight wise is negligible if you get new lightweight carbon fiber ones.I shoot various cameras depending on what I'm doing with my main body being a Canon 1DX2 and backup bodies of either the Canon 80D or Sony A7. Together with a few lenses I'm already lugging around quite a weight in camera equipment so lightweight is a must. The Sabrent 56 inch tripod meets that criteria weighing in at just under 5lbs.It comes in a nice sturdy canvass carrying case measuring slightly under 2ft in length. When fully open but with the center column retracted the Sabrent is 46 inches tall moving up to 56 inches when the center column is fully deployed. The legs are 3 stage clips. The clips do a nice job of holding the legs in place although I'm not entirely sure how well the plastic clips will hold up after a lot of travelling. So far they are holding up fine. The head is a 360 degree ball mount with a quick release plate. The plate isn't the standard sliding plate but more of a square that clicks nicely into place with a quick release lever easily accessible. The ball head moves easily and smoothly and locks well into place however won't hold the weight of my 1DX2 with a 70-200mm lens attached. That is just too much for it. It does however hold my 80D or A7 with 24-70mm lenses very well, even at 90 degree angles. You will find spirit levels and bubbles all over the head should you need to make sure that everything is straight and level. In practice I hardly ever glance at these as its more about what you are seeing through the viewfinder than is the tripod balanced correctly. The tripod by itself if you fully extend it to its 56 inch height with the center column fully extended is not overly stable and does wobble a bit, however Sabrent have cleverly put a hook under the center column that you can hang a weight off which makes a tremendous difference in stabilizing the tripod.Overall then this is a fairly nice tripod that is light enough to travel with. I was a little disappointed that it wouldn't hold the weight of my 1DX2 + lens but my other smaller camera bodies and lenses it handled fine. If you weight the tripod it is steady and is good indoors or out. A good starter or travelling tripod.
The standout feature of the tripod is the ball head. Able to rotate the camera and capture any shot that I have needed. The quick changing mount is convenient and was easy to use. With the levels on the head, you are guaranteed to always have a level shot. I did, however, find that the tripod was a little on the heavier side, especially for the size. Each leg locks in 3 places and can expand a good amount. I filmed a head full of videos sitting down and the tripod was the perfect size for it. Held up my Canon 70D perfectly. The smooth motion of the ball head was great for panning shots.Overall if you are looking for a compact tripod this is perfect. The included carrying case is perfect to stow away and travel with.
Wellllllll this *seems* like it would be a nice tripod, but it broke within 5 minutes of opening it. Just unfolding the tripod was great, but it leaves the camera about chest height, and you HAVE to pull the center column out to raise it... and that's where things went sideways. It came out completely but wouldn't go back in, and there are zero instructions in the manual for how to handle this scenario. I finally called tech support (and somewhere along the way the column went partially back in--but then stuck hard and won't slide up or down), but they were unable to help me (after giving me unhelpful directions, like telling me to watch a YouTube video for a tripod that looks NOTHING like this one). Two stars instead of one because they did offer to replace the tripod if I mailed it back in, but I'd have to pay for shipping, so at this point I'm hoping to cut my losses and have Amazon take it back instead. So: it mostly seems like a nice tripod, but does have some plastic in places that will get quite a bit of use, so be sure to buy it from a place with a good return policy, and cross your fingers.
The Sabrent 56” aluminum tripod with 360 degree full motion mount, made in China, includes the tripod, carrying case, and the user manual, The tripod weighs about 3 lbs. (3.7 lbs. with the case), folds up to 23” tall, includes a quick release plate system, and has an integrated bubble level. The zippered nylon case has an internal zippered pocket, carrying handles, and a shoulder strap. The tripod head uses a ball joint system, which locks into the perfect position for the shot. The head also has panning range degrees. The bottom of the center stem has a hook to hang weights from for stabilization if needed. Plus, the legs are adjusted using a simple flip and lockThis tripod does feel heavy to me, but I have and use lighter and far more expensive tripods. Considering the price of the Sabrent 56” aluminum tripod which includes the 360 degree full motion mount and quick release plates, this tripod is a good value.PROS:Ball joint leveling systemSimple to use2 year warrantyCONS:Feels heavy
The Sabrent tripod is aluminum with a black finish. It comes with a nice carrying case, which can be used for storage and travel. Conveniently located Inside the bag is an inside zippered pocket that houses a shoulder strap and Allen wrenches (which helps to remove of the monopod leg). It extends up to 56 inches in height and comes with a 360-degree full motion camera mount which allows you to lock the position in with a turn of the knob. There are also three bubble levels which allows for centering on uneven foundations. The camera mount also comes with a quick release which allows for quick removal of your camera. It can be placed back on the tripod with just a slight push and again it is locked (back) in place. The legs can be adjusted and locked into three different positions. Or the legs can be extended to adjust to different terrains. And finally, the center column can be removed and used as a monopod, which is useful for stabilizing the camera for close-up photos or steadying your shot. Overall, this is a nice tripod for traveling and for using in different applications. 5 stars but only gave 4 stars for durability, only time will tell if that is true.
This is a really nice amateur tripod. It feels sturdy and I never felt like the weight of my camera or a strong breeze would topple it over. However, along with that sturdiness comes significant weight ... I didn't measure it myself, but it felt between 5-8 pounds. And if you're already lugging a bunch of equipment, that's pretty significant. However for the casual photographer who's using this around the house and not traveling with it, it is great!
First off I would like to say the included carry bag for the tripod is horribly smelly. I aired it out for a week and still smells a bit but, it has a strong nylon construction and seems like it will last. The bag has a decent sized inside pocket for mount adapters and the included allen wrenches for tightening the leg locks. There is also a removable shoulder strap. I really like the levels attached to the camera mount. It helped a lot to get my shoots lined up right, which I had problems with in the past. The padded grip on one of the legs for using it as a monopod is a nice touch. I found the tripod to be easy to use and it works great with my Samsung NX3000 camera. I just wish the bag was not so smelly.
I got this tripod for my son. He's very interested in photography. He has a small Canon camera and uses his phone quite often. So, it will never be used to carry anything heavy.Feature wise, this tripod has everything you need to get started. A built-in ball head and quick disconnect is perfect. Height adjustment is very easy and seems to be very sturdy.I believe he'll be able to use this for a very long time. At least until he gets a heavier camera and/or takes this hobby a little more seriously.I highly recommend this tripod to anyone just getting into photography and/or you don't have a very heavy camera.
This is a super nice tripod for shooting stills or video at home, in the studio, or outdoors. The 360 degree full motion mount allows for a smooth transition while taking in a panoramic shot or while capturing movement on video. It's lightweight so it's not a big deal to carry it along with you in the handy storage bag.The ability to adjust the length of each leg is very simple so uneven terrain won't be an issue when looking to do some nature photography. Being able to set up the tripod to attach the camera to point in most any direction is extremely helpful not only for photography but for setting up to do videos including down facing shots for demonstrations while keeping your camera securely mounted. This tripod is becoming one of my favorites. One of my other tripods has just been transferred to the job of holding a light for the set.
The Sabrent TP-AL56 has most of the features you would see on professional tripods at a reasonable price for an enthusiastic amateur. The downside is there is a lot of plastic in the TP-AL56. Presumably that means less durability. HOWEVER, that shouldn't be a problem for the amateur who won't be using it as much or as hard as a pro. So it's not really a drawback.I was recently shopping for a tripod. The feature I wanted the most was a reversible center column. (I like Macro). It was hard to find that feature on a tripod that didn't cost a lot. This has the reversible column - wish I had waited forthis! Center column also has a hook on the bottom to hold a stabilizing bag (Pros uses sandbags, amateurs use their camera bag)It has the quick-release camera mount. This would be VERY handy if Sabrent sold extra fasteners. I looked, couldn't find a mention of it on Sabrent's site but I didn't look very hard. The mount comes out easily. Attaching it SHOULD be easy but it's a little clumsy when you try it with a camera on the attachment. I would practice with it before taking the tripod on vacation. In fact, the attaching part didn't work at all for about 5 minutes right after I upacked the tripod. And then it did work. The spring was probably sticky and now it's worn it. Still, check it out and get used to it.The head has excellent mobility. Ball joint on the mount so you can swing the camera quickly around. Rotatable column. The column also has 360 degree markings. VERY NICE if you do Panorama pictures. The locking switch does both the ball joint and the column. If you just want to rotate the column but want to keep the ball joint locked - you can do that if move the switch to a halfway position. The column is then movable but the ball joint has enough friction so that the camera won't lean over. Takes a little fiddling to get it right. Practice! The legs are the normal 3 section extensibles. There's also a switch at the top of each leg so let you lock the leg's maximum angle at 3 positions. Normal, wide and absurdly wide. This would probably by handy on the side of a hill.Sabrent keeps talking about a monopod option. I'm not sure what they mean by that. The tripod does come with tools to remove the screws that hold the legs in place. Perhaps they mean you can remove two legs and use the 3rd one - the one that has a foam grip - as a monopod.Nice carrying case. The enthusiastic amateur can not go wrong with this!
This is a great "little" full featured tripod. Comes with a ball head, quick release and a very nice zippered case. I was immediately struck by the quality feel of the tripod overall, especially in the leg pivot locks. Has that Gitzo / Induro feel at a fraction of the price. Easily converts to a mono pod and that a hook on the post for a weight bag. The ball head is not super smooth, but it locks down solid with a 10 lb lens/body combo. The head also comes with a quick release plate with a unique spring action release clamp. 3 Levels on the head plus 1 on the tripod as well. This may well become one of my favorite travel tripods. It's reasonably priced as well. Check it out.
