Hello, I was using the DS-4SSD with 2 x 8TB, 1 x 4TB and 1 x 1TB Samsung SSD's and all was ok.
Then I upgraded to 4 x 8TB's (samsung 870 QVO) now it will only recognise 1 of the 4, drive manager reports 1 of them as 16TB without a drive letter and shows it as having a 2TB MBR partition and a 5TB "protected GPT partition"
Is there a firmware update that could make 4 x 8TB possible or is just impossible?
Thankyou
Steve
@STEPHEN MILLS Drives should show in Device Manager. They may have to be initialized in Disk Management. If they are not showing properly there, check DiskPart to verify that the drives are exposed correctly.
There's also the case where a drive will be misrepresented due to a sector size mismatch, depending on where it was originally formatted. You can read more here and jump to 2nd to last post for a brief summary. If you intend to use all the drives in the docking station, they should be initialized/formatted inside.
Hello! I am not sure if the issue I am having is related, but I hope someone from the Support Team reads this post:
I just got the DS-4SSD docking station, and weird behabiour is happening. Firstly, when the docking station is connected without any SSD, it doesn´t show up in the Device Manager. When I connect an SSD, the LED indicator flashes very fast, until ir recognizes the drive. If I connect a second SSD, the first SSD dissapears and only the second one appears. Also other times the functioning of the dock is really unpredictable, as it stops recognising any SSD.
What is wrong with it? Is there any driver update? Should I return the product as it is faulty?
Thanks in advance,
Aitor
@epaitorr Sometimes Windows will grab the drive(s) for Storage Spaces, so be sure to check there and after in Disk Management.
