But the drive is not showing up normally in disk management but i cant rename it from disk one as that options is greyed out...
any ideas?

@brian reynolds The disk number on the left is arbitrarily assigned by the operating system, it has no meaning beyond that.

@brian reynolds The name of the partition(s) is something different. Disk 1 is how the system recognizes the actual physical disk. Use a program like MiniTool Partition Wizard to have more information. If you are just trying to assign a drive letter and then name to a partition, you can do that in Windows Disk Management by right-clicking the 228GB partition. If this fails, check MiniTool PW.
