Raid 1

  • Hello,

I just got SABRENT USB Type-C to Dual 3.5” SATA and RAID Docking Station with CFast/SD Card Readers and USB Type-A Port (DS-2BCR)

I managed to make it as Raid 1 with two Western Digital 10TB WD Red Plus NAS Internal Hard Drive HDD - 7200 RPM, SATA 6 Gb/s, CMR, 256 MB Cache, 3.5" - WD101EFBX

My question is: If I remove one of the drives, and put it in a regular USB docking station, I will be able to see the content of the drive and the files?

I had an experience with Startech, where if I remove a drive from a Raid 1, I cannot see any data on it.

What is happening with the Sabrent Raid docking station ?

    Thank you

  • @Ion Gheorghe Apologies for my previous reply, I've checked up on this and found that you can do RAID on the ASM1352R, as opposed to a software RAID via the OS. A proper RAID-1 should allow you to remove one drive without any issue. I have passed your post along. I do see that some StarTech models have a bug/flaw with this.
