EC-DFLT firmware block acess to disk

  • I'd like to understand what leads a company like Sabrent to distribute a firmware upgrade for the EC-DFLT that prevents the user from normally accessing the disk and the information stored there.

Sabrent knows the error exists but doesn't fix it. They simply suggest the user purchase software to access the disk, format it, and only then can they use the docking station normally.

I'd really like Sabrent to explain this firmware update and the complete lack of support for resolving the error they created.

  • @paulofonseca Please contact support directly for this.

  • @Sabrent

I've already contacted support, but I haven't received a solution to this serious problem Sabrent created.

Losing access to data due to the Sabrent docking station firmware update is very serious.

Providing the old firmware solves the problem. Why don't you do it?

This is a general discussion about Sabrent's atitude as a hardware brand, which, even after identifying its own errors, fails to resolve them, even when the solution is within its reach.

What leads a company to fail to act and resolve a problem like this, causing serious harm to customers who trusted them? In my case, I trusted their docking stations to make backups, and now I can't access my data due to firmware update (which can and SHOULD be rolled back by Sabrent).
