I needed an USB hub with more than just a few ports so that I can better organize my desktop. Prior to this I had 8 or so USB cables going from the desk to the computer and it was just a mess. This hub allowed me to mount it under the desk (it comes with a mounting plate) and run just one cable from my PC to it. Now my stream deck and edit controls and mouse keyboard drawing pad etc. all run in a bundle over the back edge of the desk behind the monitor to this hub and it's tidy and organized and I don't have to worry about my cat getting tangled in the cables any more.
Although the larger Drive self aligns, the SSD's need an eyeball sometimes to properly seat and connect. It works as designed, working drives in either size. Note: it will only accommodate one drive at a time. The only drawback is one I have with most desktop electronics: Could they either add some ballast weight or an anti skip pad to the bottom. I'm sick and tired of these things scooting around as I'm trying to use them :-p
