Beautiful seems a bit over the top to describe a cable, but they really are top quality. I was after a cable that very securely fitted the USB-C port in my phone, and wouldn't lose connection while driving. These certainly fit the bill and they'll last a very long time. The packaging is also really nice, and the velcro tabs on the cables to coil them up are a nice bonus. They work for fast charging my Samsung S10+. If there's one downside, it's that they're not very flexible, but that's only because they are so sturdy, and they'll probably loosen up a bit with use. By far the best quality cables I've ever owned.

My workplace have PC based cash registers for customer point of sale purchasing. It's 2021 already and many PC's no longer include serial ports for legacy devices. Unfortunately, we do not want a bulking desktop PC on these cash register stations with a 3rd party serial card. Fortunately, this cable is the solution we need as a workaround to use the new PC's USB port to read as serial port.Unfortunately, I have to knock 1 star as this product's included drivers (via PC) would not work with Logic Controls serial pole display. I had to download and install USB to Serial drivers from a 3rd party website to get it working with our pole display devices. Normally, I try to avoid 3rd party drivers due to security reasons.

Feel nice and support quick charging. Now that more things are USB C, you can never have enough of these.

No problems at all for my standalone ECU programming via Win10 Dell laptop.

I finally got tired of fighting my cheap USB to DB-9 adapter and bought a proper one.This one just works from the minute you plug it in.

I used this cable with a Dell PowerConnect switch. I tried TeraTerm and Putty and both worked with no connection issues. I used device manager in Windows to get the correct connection name. Satisfied with this purchase.

As expected, you insert the CD and install. The installation is easy. In Windows 10 after installing just head into control panel hardware and sound, view devices and printers. It showed up for me as FT232R USB UART. Then right click it and select properties, Hardware. You could then see which COM port it shows up as. So I used it with Putty and it worked.

Works fine, although I did need to install the FTDI drivers for it to work on Windows 10. Works with no drivers on Debian. I've used it to do a serial connection with an old Windows CE device.

Best adapter I have purchased. I will buy 5 more!

Not at all like the pic in the ad. I did some research and this cable does not work with Windows 8 and above. I have 10 and it did not work. The cable is clear and metallic braided inside, not black. Too late to send back, package is gone. Fortunately not too expensive but lesson learned.

Used this to connect to an old Meade 12" LX200GPS Schmitt Cassigrain telescope. Seamless connection to the computer. A cheap knock off from another etailer wouldn't be recognized no matter what I did. This adapter allowed me to update my firmware and to control the telescope from my laptop. NOTE: for the LX200 series you still need another cable to go from the 9 pin serial to the input on the telescope

Yes! Finally updated my old Garmin GPS. Worked perfectly, I didn’t have to do anything special, hooked it up to the windows 10 pc, downloaded the file I needed, hooked up the gps, found the proper port and updated!May be a single use item for me, but well worth the price.

I was having difficulty trying to connect my AEM wideband gauge to output signal to my laptop to datalog my 2011 WRX for tuning on the ecu. Originally I had some cheap cable with the "Prolific" chipset. That didnt work so I bought this cable w/ the "FTDI" chipset and it works flawlessly. I didnt even have to search for drivers! Just plugged the cable into my tuning laptop, it installed it and got it all setup. Once that completed I hooked the RS-232 side to my wideband and the usb to laptop. Works perfect, I would recommend this cable to anyone who is trying to datalog their AEM afr gauge on their laptop. Plus the cable was long enough to tuck away and store when im not using it. Worth the money instead of fighting with some generic cable like I did...UPDATE: 1/4/21 This cable works so well I bought another for a second project car for Wideband datalog use.

Worked as needed

I have an older HP LaserJet 6L printer that still (kinda) works after many years. As I am getting rid of an old desktop that this was connected to, I wanted to keep using it. I don't have a desktop PC anymore, so no more parallel ports... This cable/converter worked fine to connect my laptop (running Manjaro Linux) to my printer; no fuss, no muss - once I got the cable connected and printer powered, the OS auto-detected and set up the printer and I had little else to do but carry on printing.

First, while I did not pick this up from the tech notes, the cable is 6' long. A plus since one ad indicated it was just 1' long. Second, I have three ancient HP LaserJet printers--one 4 and two 5MPs--with at least two toner cartridges for each one. Workhorses that are perfect for all the B&W printing of manuals and other documents. It is silly to waste money printing them on new color inkjet printers. I had no trouble getting it to work on Win7, but no luck on Win10. I am continuing with work on that last platform since I see some have been able to get it to work. But in the meantime I just turned an old Win7 PC I was about to throw away into the B&W printer server for my home network. I bought a second cable so I could have two LaserJet printers hooked up. One for printing of standard pages, the other for envelopes. I can't believe how little they cost and how easy it was to get them to work. There is no real instruction manual, by the way. My manual told me to plug the USB end of the cable into the computer and the printer connector into the printer. Seriously--that was it. Of course, it was all I needed ... I didn't know how to rate Tech Support since I didn't need any although there was a way to contact them and I may ask for help on the Win 10 problem.Later note: I have no idea why it did not work the first time, but the second time I tried the adapter with a Win 10 PC, it worked perfectly. No setup of any kind. Just plug in both ends of the cable and look for the printer on your PC. It shows up as the correct printer. Just a couple of days ago I was given two more LaserJet 4 printers along with nearly full toner cartridges. I will purchase at least one more adapter and these printers will have a new life.

I bought this USB to Parallel cable in hopes it would work with my ALPS MD-1300 printer. Unfortunately it does not. The overall construction of the cable looks to be very good, the tech support did try a little to help my situation and that is why I gave this a 4 star rating.The computer sees the cable just fine, but when you connect the cable to the printer, it starts to make a grinding noise and then errors out. I have another computer and cable that the printer works perfect on so I know it is this cable.Sorry ALPS printer users - this cable is not for us.

Our old network printer had gotten unreliable, ethernet cable was not getting the job done on the more current operating system. This cable got my beloved old printer back up and running again.
