Repurposed a 6-month-old SSD from a laptop I recycled. The Sabrent enclosure provides not only protection but peace of mind. It's now being used as a fifth backup and works great.
The "provided" USB cable allows for excellent connectivity as well as fast read/write speeds. Definitely recommend this one. Great product!

Don't use the supplied cable if you're after fast data transfer. It's 40MB/s (old USB speeds). Decent cable gives me 180MB/s!
It cost slightly more more but it has good quality. Compared to most cheaper brands, Sabretooth standout, this enclosure produced very little heat so you can be sure that your NVMe M.2 will not get over heated.
Had this for more than a year now. Even though I've looked after it the caddy connection has become intermittent. When it was working properly it was fast. They make one now that has a toolless setup and a stronger USB C connector for a similar price which I'm sure is better.

I've purchased two so far. No problems. No fuss. Easy tool less design. I will purchase more as I swap out my Hard Drives and replace them with SSD's. This is a nice way to use your old drive as a backup drive.

Yes, I am happy with this item. My new sata drive fit into it.It works as advertised with a little bonus, has a blue light which tells me when the disc is being accessed or is in work. l have not seen this feature on a drive (at this cost) enclosure unless it has an electrical plug. This does not have an electrical plug and plugs in to the usb port 2.0-3.1.I am satisfied with this product and would purchase it again if I needed to.

Stays cool, does not heat up. So compact, you can fit it in your pocket. Very fast response and no problems with the cable, as others have stated. All aluminum. Definitely recommend.
We have used this enclosure with a 500MB Hitachi HDD, and with 500MB WD Blue SSD.Works fine as external storage with either drive on Mac and Raspberry Pi 3B+.Boots the Raspberry Pi 3B+ (USB2) using the SSD AND with the HDD. Not every enclosure does.Disappointed that the external drive speed, connected directly to a USB3 port on the 2012 Mac Mini, was only around 42 MB/s both with HDD (expected, 5400 rpm) AND with the WD SSD.Other external HDD units do about 100 MB/s on these ports.
Top was a little irritating to get off and on. But the enclosure works perfectly on a old laptop 1TB 2.5" hard drive. Worked perfectly to retrieve the data I needed and now have a extra portable storage drive.
