Sabrent small device audio adapter is great

The Sabrent USB external stereo sound adapter is a good complement to my laptop. I have a working sound chip on my Lenovo laptop, but the microphone input port was missing, and was instead substituted with a combo headset port. The headset port accepts headphones with microphones, but I needed a microphone in port to complete a cassette to digital conversion session. I received the device in about a week and a half, and was able to complete the digitization sequence successfully. Thanks Sabrent for making a quality USB audio adapter !

Great for Guitar Jamming using Windows 10 PC/Android and External Amplifier

I wish I would have tried this thing earlier. I bought a laptop a while back without realizing that it had no proper line in / line out jacks and instead a headset mic/headset trrs which can't be used as traditional sound card jacks. A fundamental error. I ended up buying an EZCAP audio in jack. I figured I could use the Esiinkin bluetooth (delay issue playing guitar) or the projection Miracast to merge the output from my Line 6 Pod Pocket. What clusterpluck all that was.So I figured I would try the Sabrent Aluminum USB External Stereo Sound Adapter for Windows after looking at a bunch of other stuff. (see pictures for setup components) I got less lag record vs playback audio (about 130 milliseconds as far as I can tell from recording the tuner on the pod with my phone to capture both the guitar string strike sound and speaker output of the laptop/USB). Playing the guitar simultaneous with the shortened loop ready backing track works but I really don't think even the slight delay is good enough for "jamming") (btw - search dopez tracks "Rock Ballad Backing Track in Em" for a great example). The output from the Guitar effect (see pics) stereo output works with the mic input at the same time plugging in a stereo line in from the Pod Pocket but not sure it is not just mono out, but it sounds good over the backing track loop. Finally, the levels for both the backing track (output) and the guitar (input) appear on the same Sound Control using for the device so I can easily control the balance (mix) of the jam session. This is also easily done with Windows Volume Properties mixer. But the lag/delay is not workable. After all the wasted approaches, this usb audio input/output was pretty seamless, it was seven dollars and got it in two days. I had also bought a cheaper one but it seems to have the same delay on Windows 10.But, I did get the Sabrent to work with a pretty new Android Tablet that has a headphone/line to plug the Sabrent into. Checked with a recording app and the input working is working too. Then, found a free App called n-Track app (see 2nd picture) that monitors both input and output at the same time to less at the same time with my phone using the tablet as a source. The Sabrent, my Android Tablet (and phone I think) with N-track (free version) looks to be easy with no delay thought it took me a while to figure out the interface.Took a bit and had to get past some really stupid tech complexities, but ended up a $7 Sabrent and a free Android App and seems to work like a charm.

works well for amp input

I just recently have become interested in recording my bass guitar for personal projects and for fun, but I was unable to plug the headphone output from my amp straight into my 2018 MacBook Pro because it would only recognize this as an output, not an input. I knew a microphone or external audio interface would come with plug that would hopefully be recognized correctly, so I began looking online for suitable setups. Since I am only recording for fun, I did not want to spend $100+ on a true audio interface when I only need the basic recording and can then edit in GarageBand/Audacity.I decided to try out this sound adapter because it uses a USB input, which I hoped meant the computer itself would recognize it as both an output and input device. It did! I was able to plug my amp headphone output into the sabrent device and then into my computer via an adapter (seen in photo), which then allowed me to select it as an input device. As for the sound quality of the input, it sounds fine. I had to play with both the settings on my amp and in Garageband and audacity for it to sound right, but it was pretty simple. There is a bit of static that can be lessened by slightly moving cords and plug ins, but I usually hear that out of my amp anyway. You could probably edit out most of the static or at least reduce it a lot using any audio program on a computer.Overall, I was very excited that the sabrent worked for this purpose, as I know it is more intended for other sound purposed. I can't vouch for its longevity because I have only had it for a day, but I think it is well worth it for the price and I'm glad I tried it out!

Does what is says with no issues

Works great! Volume is comparable to my old usb headset. Very small size so it doesn't protrude more than a typical usb headset dongle.

Quick and Easy solution

I got a new computer and it did not have the same plugs as my former computer. This adapter did the trick for speakers and microphone at a reasonable cost.

Lifesaver!!

My computer does not have the ability to to display an output sound unless using headphone, so I needed an adapter. I've had this for about a week and it works perfect! One end plugs into the computer and I just plug my speaker microphone plug into the jack and I am ready to go. no installation needed, very user friendly.

Very bulky

For quality of sound etc., its okay, but this product is designed to be too bulky, making one of my usb ports unusable. Moreover, they don't accept returns!

Great way to add microphone and headphone

The refurbish business computer I got for my child for school did not have a microphone jack or beadphone jack. This acts like a soundcard and plugs into a USB, making the location easy to access. It work well when I tested on Windows 10, Ubuntu and MX Linux and Raspberry Pi 3B+.

Finally a working line-in solution for my MSI laptop

My MSI laptop refused to work with line-in devices. I've tried a different adapter with only 1 3.5 jack with no luck. With this product I can finally record a line-in stereo device. Amplification sounds good as well.

Works with Dell Laptop

This works fine on my Dell laptop. I am using this for receiving and transmitting digital radio signals and so I am only concerned with a bandwidth between 200 and 2800 Hz. I have not tested it for other applications. (My Dell laptop refuses to recognize the mic input to its TRRS jack, which seems to be a known Dell issue. I tried a TRRS to 2xTRS splitter but that didn't work due to the Dell issue. An outboard USB sound card was the least expensive and easiest solution.) Also note: I've found in the past that internal laptop sound cards can be subject to a lot of noise from the other laptop internals, so an external sound card is often a good idea.

Good build quality inside and out.

This device doesn't appear to be a victim of planned obsolescence. All components inside were well soldered and mounted properly.

Works on Windows 11

Replaced an old audio card that stopped working because there are no current Windows drivers for it. Replaced it with this unit. And all I had to do was plug it into a USB port. No tearing the computer apart to put a new card in. Windows 11 booted up and I got sound from my speakers. Didn't have to install any software. And the sound is crystal clear. Amazing.

Simple Solution for Audio Input/Output

This inexpensive USB audio adapter was simple way to get audio in and out of my notebook computer being used for a hybrid Zoom meeting. Audio input was a dual wireless mike system. Audio output went to PA system in the room. The USB device was found by MacPro notebook and was simple to select. The USB device also work with Dell PC notebook,
