Works way better than I thought it would, but i did have to install without cover - i am using a WDBLACK PS5 SSD W/HEATSINK
What a great product showed up in a flash
Love it, worked well with my Linux mint build! I didn't have to install drivers.
Screws on back don't come out easily and 2 stripped on first one we ordered, on replacement the 2nd unit also had a screw that got stripped. Maybe my fault? But it's happened on 3 out of the 8 screws I've tried and so i still have not been able to install
After many conflicting reviews and production descriptions, I took the chance and can now confirm this will infact provide PCIE4.0 X4 passthrough for 4th gen NVME drives.I can get the full 6995MB/s out of the Rocket 4 Plus, and 4999MB/s out of the standard gen4 Rocket.ASUS CH Hero Viii5900XRTX3080 in slot1 using pcie4.0 x16 from cpuSamsung 980 using m.2 S1 using pcie4.0 x4 from cpuSabrent rocket 4 m.2 S2 using pcie4.0x4 from chipsetSabrent Rocket 4+ in Slot 3 plus using pcie4.0x4 from chipsetYou have to make sure that you arnt using all of the gen4.0 lanes provided. On new Ryzen chips you get 24x gen 4 lanes total, 20x direct from the CPU at low latency and 4x to the Chipset which acts like a switch and provides 16x additional lanes at higher latency.M.2 slot 1 is almost always dedicated x4 CPU lanes, so if you want to use the full potential(however small) of the newer GPUs you run out of CPU lanes.I think many users were trying to use this in Pcie slots that already had their bandwidth spoken for, so make sure to read your motherboards manual about lane distribution.
I have tried another knock off/typical PCIE adapter and nothing like this one, I have a Ryzen 9 5900X paired with an Asus ROG Strix X570-E and I couldn't get the regular adapter to work with my board. I have two other M.2 SSDs and this was the 3rd one and since I ran out of slots this is a beautiful design and completely under-rated brand/design. I am glad for Amazon and being able to return the other adapter. My m.2 NVME gen4 from XPG S70 Blade is running at full speed.
Replaced my motherboard heat sink for m.2 with this one. While temps were ok with the other this product dropped my temps into the 30s. Very pleased with result, easy installation, and fit my product well.
Not a lot to say here other than it works well for my purposes. I bought a new Dell with a 256GB SSD drive, but wanted to upgrade to a 1TB. I needed to be able to clone the 256 SSD that came with the computer so that I could use the faster/larger drive as a boot disk, but also keep the 256 drive in the system for extra storage. I moved the 256 into this adapter and put the new 1TB on the main board (mainly in case i need to remove the adapter and plug something else in id still have a bootable machine) In any case the adapter worked great. Plugged it in and my Dell XPS 8940 recognized it and booted the machine off of the drive in there. Does what it claims to, coming from a reputable brand for a reasonable cost.I also want to add this review is for the SSD drive adapter. I see there is an adapter and 2 heat sync options on Amazon under this listing. It looks like some reviews are for the heat sync alone…and some people have complained about that. I can’t speak to the stand-alone heat sync, but the review is for the SSD NVMe M.2 PCIe adapter.
My Samsung 980 was hitting some massive temperatures previously. 70°+. I installed this heatsink and an extra fan in my case, temps haven’t even touched 40° to my knowledge. I’ll randomly check in a gaming session, the highest I’ve seen was 36°. Well worth the asking price, works so well
This adapter card was an easy way to install a Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD in a Dell 7810. The Dell 7810 only supports Gen3 PCIe, but the new NVMe SSD is still about 6x faster than the SATA SSD it replaced. The quality of the adapter and the heat sink arrangement is good. The kit even comes with a small screwdriver to install the nVME SSD inside the heat sink.
I applied the Thermal pads to my M.2 drive (Samsung 970 EVO) then installed the drive in its slot on the card and screwed the heatsink back together. After I finished screwing it all together I found that the bottom plate was bending ever so slightly. I was still able to slot the card into my bottom most PCIex16 slot and my computer recognized it as a bootable windows drive without any further setup needed.
Easy to install 👌 and lowered ssd temperature to 29 degrees Celsius
This is an easy no frills way to get an NVMe M.2 drive attached to an open PCI slot. I've had no issues so far, and it seems like the heat sink works decently, with my drive averaging around 52 C according to samsung magician. Using with a 970 EVO plus 2tb drive, quite happy with the performance boost with games loading.
Thus heat sink feels and looks great. Very good quality. I bought it to use for Samsung 980 pro in my PS5, it fits ok in the bay for the SSD. The problem is that 1. This heat sink is much taller than others in the marker due to tall design of the coils. 2 the provided screw that they send to secure it in the slot is not long enough so you can use it. I had to use the original screw that was in the PS5, also you can't use the tall washer that is in the PS5 as well.I know the main concern with ppl is that you can't reuse the cover for the ssd slot but that doesn't bother me. I actually think this will be best way to keep it cool regardless.Main point. It works fine if you're willing to leave the SSD cover off and just use the original PS5 screw to secure the heat sink in place.
I installed this heat sink on a Samsung 970 Evo Plus and dropped temperature to 34c.Great product. Highly recommended.
Ever since update for SSD upgrade went live for ps5 this has been installed and actually keeps the SSD slot cooler than with heatsink that fits. You can’t close it but it stays cooler in there! For those who are having trouble buying heatsink that fit.
Got this for my Sabrent PCI 4 SSD. Installation was a breeze, and it looks great on the motherboard.
This is a well built m.2 risser...I don't agree with some of the other review that state the mounting mech don't work maybe they a difrent sku than I did...this one works great and has plenty of thermal pads to insure my overpriced pcie 4.0 2tb nvme SSD dosnt overheat lol...it is Nicely enclosed in this full metal enclosure and even has neet little led status indicators(why there are 4 I have yet to figure out lol maybe one for each pcie Lane idk) ... I have this installed in a inwin b1 to add a secound m.2 SSD to my mini rig with the 5700G so now I can fully use the 2 2.5 bay on the back for fairly fast mechanicle drives and still have 2 m.2 for muiltibooting operating systems from difrent media as opposed to muiltiple partitions on one disk...
Una instalación efectiva y funciona
Sabrent M.2 2280 SSD Rocket Heatsink (SB-HTSK). I gave this one to one of my Grandsons to use in his new Gaming Desktop Computer. H e installed his and has had no issues either. (after watching Assembly and installation Videos too).
Although the larger Drive self aligns, the SSD's need an eyeball sometimes to properly seat and connect. It works as designed, working drives in either size. Note: it will only accommodate one drive at a time. The only drawback is one I have with most desktop electronics: Could they either add some ballast weight or an anti skip pad to the bottom. I'm sick and tired of these things scooting around as I'm trying to use them :-p
sorprendió, recomendado
This worked perfectly and was just what I needed to keep from disposing of two old, high capacity drives.
Great device.
I buy the drive docking station of mark "SABRENT", Then that I received, I agree with the logistics, service, price-quality and delivery time. I must be fair and appreciate the attention provided and I will be happy to find products from the same line that meet my needs. Thanks
It works great using an old SATA drive as an external drive. I have yet to try using it to copy drives since I don't have an extra one to copy to.
I have a lot of old HDD that I wanted to restore files from and this worked with pretty ancient sata drives.
It works for Mac Monterey. All I need to know.
Computer died and had 4 hard drives in it. Used this to get files of hard drive. No problem. No install. Fast. Did what it was suppose to put of the box.
This Optiplex replaces a previous version in a small form. The performance is as though it was brand new. The only issue I had was getting software updates from Microsoft. You need a specific KB file to bring it far enough up to date to install proper usb drivers and for Microsoft update to operate. After I figured that out and got it completed it now is exactly as it should with ample memory and HD space to do everything I need. Shipping was faster than I expected too!
So simple. Connect to PC, slap old drives in and out to scan them and transfer. Nice.
