All though the first tiny little drive malfunctioned and failed the replacement I received not long ago works perfectly well. Good lucking, tiny and mighty.
Perfoermance is JUST FINE.
I was hoping to really like this product. Two stars because I like the idea of it and form factor. I worked with tech support to troubleshoot overheating issues only shortly after Amazon's return window. Sabrent said it was a software issue. I then tested this device in multiple software environments, Mac, Linux, Windows, directly and through a Network Share. I also tested with different USB cables, etc... and it overheated and crashed within the first 24 hours of use. I put it on my shelf thinking of how I could have used it.
I don't understand all the bad reviews this product received. I think its FANTASTIC!It's super small, highly portable and no-fuss plug-and-play flawless operation. I own 6 SSD nano drives, and this outperforms them all. Literally, it's lightning fast. It copies 40GB of data in a minute or two, and performs flawlessly every time I use it.. They heavy duty build quality is fantastic, and if you get the one with the rubber number, it's even shock proof. I couldn't ask for more for $230.Don't be fooled into buying one of those $50 SSD Nano drives from china. They can't even copy 100Gb of data in under a WEEK without any errors. THIS dive works as advertised - flawlessly, every time. I haven't had ONE error, and the speed is AMAZING.Would I buy another? This was my FOURTH - and they all work great.
I've had this about a year, and it works - which is amazing considering the # of negative Sabrent SSD reviews I've read coupled with the face that I've had this attached to an RPI4 as NAS storage and it overheats so bad when the Pi fails to recognize it that I think it will melt right through the Pi case and start the house on fire. But it works fast and cool on an intel Mac. I have a rate it decently for that, but now I have to find a new NAS solution, either that, or pay more for home owners insurance.
