Bought off the recommendation from a friend to use to copy files from old laptops that can't connect to the internet. I then was able to reformat the drives and prepare them for recycling (I know that doesn't fully wipe the data, but it works for my purposes).Didn't use the cloning feature, but the data transfer was simple and reliable (no loss of connection). Would definitely recommend this for anyone doing simple work with hard drives.
I count on it to transfer data to external hard drives. Two slot design is very convenient. Does overheat and runs silently.
Bought it to clone had to ssd. Worked without any problem Toshiba to SanDisk. Haven't tried it as a hard river dock, so don't know about how well it does that. I followed the cloning instruction that came with the device and it did the job-one tb drive cloned in about 3 hours,
My external 3.5 drives mounted right up so I could run my Carbon Copy Cloner backup routines.
I am able to purchase SATA SSDs and archive files to this easy to use external docking station. I was also able to see what was on old drives from machines I no longer have.
I haven't tried all features, but it works with all my different had drives.

I've had Sabrent products before, so I knew this would not let me down. Sabrent USB 3.0 to SATA I/II/III Dual Bay External Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5 or 3.5in HDD, SSD performed to my expectation. I was needing to clone and other disk management for several HHD's before wiping them and disposing for recycle. The 2 bays saved me a lot of time with some of those jobs needing 2 drives.
Had some old PC's that I took apart to dispose of and this allowed me to access the hard drives to reformat. Could be used as an external drive storage, but no fans and the drives will get hot over time.
this light weight and very modern looking device makes me feel like a king. my tech people have been eyeballing it since ive gotten it and have gotten complements as well! usb 3.0 on this thing makes all the difference!

I opened the box, connected it up, inserted two HHD, powered it up and it worked flawlessly. My computer didn't have to download anything, I was able to access both drives as if they were installed in the computer, they are very fast with the USB C cable. I'd advise buying a longer cable as the one that comes with It is just a bit over 3'. It is as advertised! I would recommend this to anyone in need of an inexpensive way to use your extra drives. I'll revisit this review after I've read the manual and have tried the other options available from it.

It got me access to a hard disk I thought was completely gone. I was able to recover certain important information that another adapter didn't allow
Working quite well for reading an old laptop disc. Probably invested a little more than I needed to, but we'll see.
That is literally what I did with an old hard drive. Up came tons of old photo's software, documents, etc. Easy to use

got new gaming PC, and wanted to prepare my old one for sale which took juggling HDD. AND it happens that my new Aurora HDD slot stifles cooling.So this inexpensive short time solution is my long time solution after all.
This dock works great, feels good and is completely plug and play. Works with 2.5" and 3.5" SATA drives.

If you are looking for a easy way to hook up a couple of additional SATA drives to your machine, this unit fills the bill. Plug it in, quick driver download, and off you go...two extra slots. It's faster than my other external drives, too. I can't say anything about the cloning function because I use other software. Seems to me like good value for the money so far.

It is very strong because it is made of thick aluminum and is the smallest among 5-bay products. power supply is also built-in, so it is clean and fast.
Wasn't sure about this product after then numerous bad reviews. Purchased it for the sole purpose of reading hard drives. Did not use the cloning function. If you want your data to clone to another drive I suggest you do it with software running on an OS so you can visually see that the data has been cloned successfully. Cloning using the devices hardware functionality is asking for trouble.
I am not very handy with computers but wanted to upgrade my 7 yr old laptop. I bought a new ssd and ram and this device. A friend recommended this to me.It is as easy to use as a toaster (and kinda looks like one). you just put the hard drives in the slots and push start and it tells you when its done, its that simple. It even worked for me ! I installed the new ssd and everything works, nothing more to it. I am writing this review with the laptop now !I woulda done it years ago if i knew how simple it is.My old H POS is better than new now!Thanks for making things simple as they should be !

pretty easy to use. i just plugged an old hard drive into it and plugged the reader into my pc. it worked just like a thumb drive.

I have an external hard drive that stopped working. After some troubleshooting, it was determined that the actual drive was working fine, but that the PCB connecting the hard drive to the USB port was not working. It was suggested that I buy an external USB docking station, and it works great. Crisis averted!
