I was surprised. Wifi signal was too weak upstairs. This took care of that. Through this the signal is as strong as coming straight from the modem.
This WiFi extender did not do what it was supposed to do. It couldn’t strengthen the signal or anything of that sort. Maybe it was the fact that I used it on my PS4 but it didn’t work so I sent it back.
Ok, definitely not the most user-friendly interface in the whole world. It took me a little fiddling around to figure out that for the repeater mode, it literally just becomes a dumb AP for the main router. You have to use the same wireless password, and you are assigned an IP from that network. Okkkkkay.... that sucks a little fun out of it, but whatever...As a router, it's fully functional as far as I can tell. You just can't change the internal IP or DHCP server range it seems without running into an error about the hostname. Stuck with 192.168.10.253 serving 192.168.10.100-200... however, there is the standard barebone router firewall, as well as port forwarding and port triggering. It even has QoS and DMZ.Honestly, this has the potential to make a fantastic complimentary router to the ISP router that's completely discreet, just plugs in behind the ISP router and connects to it via CAT5. I love that aspect about it - a totally discreet router you can tuck away anywhere. As a repeater, I really have no complaints outside of it obviously not being a user-friendly process. If you click on the wizard, it asks for the password to your other wireless network, asks you to wait, and then never gives any kind of instruction beyond that. However, YES, it does literally become a dumb gateway to your other wireless network, lol.I got this to help with an issue I'm having where the signal drops as soon as I go into the bedroom. I placed it in the outlet right outside the bedroom door, in the kitchen. It totally worked. :) Breaks up whatever interference the wall is providing when I walk into the bedroom, and gives me full bars. :)
This range extender works well, and has many more setup options than I'll ever need, but without external antennas it's short on range.
Wound up not needing it. Got a different router. Now I use it outside, to surf in a hammock.
Fully recommended. Very ship and work great.
WORKS GREAT. EASY TO SETUP AND USE.
Small in size but mighty in operation.
Went into the garage to extend our camera system. Setup was about 10 mins, then it worked when I plugged it in, in the garage. Would buy this one again for sure.
I guess this product would be great if you have access to the modem but I wanted it to get a better signal for hotel wifi where of course I have no access to the modem. If you cant connect it to the modem, it is virtually useless.
Just what I needed. A router to segregate my home automation from my main router. Worked right out of the box. Plug in, wire it's WAN to my Fios router LAN port, log into software and create SSID and Password (WPA2) done.
Works well for what I need. Take time to read instructions and save yourself a few resets 😁
As you all may be wondering, can something this cheap really be that good? Well, so long as you keep your expectations to a reasonable level, then yes. It can.I'm currently using this product in the Access point Configuration Mode (AP). It is plugged into the wall (and subsequently, the router) using the WAN/ LAN port, and my PC is connected to it using the LAN port. In that regard, it acts exactly like a repeater. No slowing, no latency, etc- almost as if it were plugged into the router in the first place. In AP mode, however, it also broadcasts a second wireless signal to connect to. Keep in mind that this is a seperate network, so you'll need to be switching in between if you want to faster speeds in one place of the house or the other. The wireless signal does not reach as far as our router, but that's to be expected. It also does not reach hard wired connection speeds, but that too can be expected. It does, however, do its job extremely well, which is creating another network at normal speeds, so long as you stay within its range. I've had no problems with this item, and it works exactly as advertised.
I bought this hoping i could extend the wifi out to our garage. Unfortunately id is not strong enough to extend the signal out to a metal sided building about 75-100 feet away. Outside the garage i get a pretty strong signal, which is definitely an improvement from my main wifi router. Setup wasnt as easy as i had hoped. You have to attach it to your router via a network cable, then use a portable device to connect to the wifi extender to set it up. The settings weren't as user friendly as they could be, but if you know how to set routers and network settings, this is definitely doable. For the price, you definitely get your moneys worth, but there are other options out there that are more novice-friendly. I will need a stronger repeater for my application, but it will extend your wifi range a pretty good distance so long as there are no metal walls to go through
Great product!
I am using this device in repeater mode so that I can connect my printer (HP Color LaserJet 2600n) to my home wifi network. My printer doesn't have wifi capability, but it does have an ethernet port, so I can now connect it to my home wifi network via this sabrent router with an ethernet cable.Configuring this device in repeater mode was easy. And my printer appeared in my home wifi network immediately after I plugged in the ethernet cable. It took less than 5 minutes to configure and setup everything.
Execellent equipmet I recomended
Great wifi range extender and great price too.
Wow, it works! I bought this device because i needed a better Wifi signal in a stairway for home automation. I was up and running in less than 10 minutes. This solved my problem. The build quality seems very good.
Cheap and does its job as a repeater extender. Got it on for about 1 month going strong... 1 power failure and the device came back on with settings intact, no problems.
i love it! tried some other repeaters that wouldnt even configure properly. the SABRENT 300MBPS was half the price, and does an excellent job. it has numerous configuration options which allow it to operate a number of ways including the one i was looking for - as a wireless adapter for a non-wireless device. Hooked it up to my TIVO MINI, and works great (after i first configured it as a repeater) with no further configuration needed on Tivo or the Sabrent. buying another one for my other Tivo Mini.
Good cheap wifi extender.
Needed this device to connect a VoIP phone to my network without running an Ethernet cable. Product worked like a charm. Very easy setup to turn it into a repeater. Took two clicks, my WiFi key, and another click to save the settings. Literally took 2 minutes to setup.I will update this review as time goes on.Update after 6 months: The unit is still working well and I recently ordered another one.
It works well. The circuitry is not very robust, however. I had one go out after about 2 years of service. For the price, it's a good product. When I received the replacement, I decided to upgrade the firmware using the .bin file I downloaded from Sabrent's website. That turned out to be a mistake. This "bricked" the WR-WN300. I got a replacement, and I will not be applying any firmware upgrades to it.
works fine. good range
Set up was fairly easy. Works like a champ. Plugged in an IP phone which works great.
We needed a way to cover our large campus where signals were not reaching. This device was cost effective and works great.
kind of a let down
Great. Lives up to the product description. thanks
