It does exactly what it was meant for with no extra power adapters.
Pretty simple, it works, cable is a little hard to bend and is pretty short though.
I have an older Mac application that I use infrequently that only runs on High Sierra. Sure, I could buy the new version for $1000, but I am too frugal to do that for one program. Instead I have High Sierra loaded onto an external SSD and use this cable to boot up High Sierra. Just restart the Mac and hold down the OPTION KEY, then pick USB. Note, this will only work on Intel Macs not M1 macs (AFAIK).
Only used 3 or 4 times then I couldn't plug it in.
The indicator is very useful to show the drive is alive. I like it so much.
This is a compact and easy to use adapter for 2.51" SATA drive. I used it to retrieve data from a drive after the motherboard on a laptop crashed. Worked great!
Plug in, download, done.
They work great
Used to manage hard drives. Does a great job.
Cable worked fine -- SSD migration software did not. Ended up rebuilding the Windows system from scratch.
Definitely works well for my needs.
Item received as described. Prompt shipping. Item worked well for an SSD hard drive replacement project.
It sure does work. I use these for video editing raw clips off of SSDs, and they have no issues with the high bandwidth. I wish they would just put the USB C port on the thing directly though.
Glad I found these (purchased 2) Sabrent USB 3.0 to SSD. In a pinch, I can grab any of my SSD drives, quickly connect it to a laptop, desktop, whether it's running MAC, Linux, or Windows and pull from or save to it.REMEMBER, this system cannot power 3.24" SATA type drives. They require far more power to run and these Sabrent USB 3.0 to SSD units aren't designed for that type of job.
Will not work for coping a back up hard drive via Cosair Data Migration Programming?
Very handy item, love it, does the job, thanks. Would recommend.
This connector/adaptor allowed me to rescue a 500 GB solid state drive from an old PC and use it as an external drive on my new PC. Transfer speed are super fast. Very happy with the purchase!
easy to connect to computer
I was able to recover files from a laptop that would not boot. Plug and play.
Great
Had it for 5 months already to use for a external hard drive, and i have had zero problems with it, i would buy it again.
This thing is so good it even has its own software, even though you don't need it. The PC recognized this USB adapter in a second and it works with any SSD, i lend it to my brother and he immediately bought one!
I’ve used this for over a year to connect an external SSD to my PS5. I’ve never had issues and the load times for PS4 games in backwards compatible mode is noticeable. Highly recommended.
These work well for cloning SSD hard drives.Need nothing else but the cloning software.I've used these 7 times to clone drives and am very happy.
This SABRENT USB 3.1 (Type-A) to SSD / 2.5-Inch SATA Hard Drive Adapter [Optimized for SSD works well however the SATA connector has a tendency to come unplugged with everyday use...To Remedy this one issue - I just scotch taped the SABRENT SATA connector to the SSD drive and now it doesn't work its way loose ( not a pretty fix but very effective.) Note too I'm using a part out of an old SSD case as a shock protector with the Sabrent SATA connector. That too works.
This product allows me to connect a SSD drive to my Nvidia Pro streaming device. To this point, it does what I paid for.
Excelent, this ia a quality product, everything I expected.
Computer died. Removed cover. Lifted up drive, OEM cable snapped off. Connection very cheap. Got these and replaced the broken cable and the DVD drive as well. Computer problem fixed: replaced PS. But the additional problem wasn’t necessary. SATA cable very high grade, worth it if you need new cables.
Cable length (approx 24") can reach the back of my tower making it easier for me to use. Write speed is faster than any USB3 stick I've tried. I have less recognition problems and can use large drives more reliably than large USB sticks. I've used this with XP, Win 7, & Win 10 Operating Systems. I store large files (over 40 GB) like backups and movies.
It worked to clone my old spinning HDD to a new SSD, Samsung 870 EVO. I took one star off because it comes with "Free" Sabrent Acronis software download that I could never get to work, just froze. Wasted a bunch of time and should have just used the Samsung software. I deleted Acronis and used Samsung's Data Migration software. The Samsung software recognized the unformatted drive and successfully cloned it. It did take hours to clone a 500GB drive. So, the cable works, the free software, not so much. I've used Acronis with Western Digital drives without issues, but the Sabrent version just wouldn't work.
My husbands review:Was looking for a faster way to load DVR’edVideo from our SlingTV. So instead of an external usb HDD, I bought a fast Samsung internal SSD…. Which needs this cable.Received it, plugged in the drive and works like a charm, with no performance issues.Great value too.
The cables do what there expected to do
Reads my 1 tb drive as is and the connection is snug! The blue light is helpful!
