Excellent.
This fixed an issue I was having with my hard drive tower connecting to my computer. Definitely worth the purchase.
Satisfied
Very intuitively made. I love this device
Very convenient. Can charge as well (powered usb slots).
Quality Hub with sturdy feel. On/Off buttons are great feature.
The enclosure is not able to read my HGST SATA 1TB drive (P/N 0J43281) which works just fine when it is installed inside my laptop running Windows 10 & Linux. Up until now I have not had any issue in using the enclosure with other SATA drives although they are of other brands and all have < 1TB capacity.
Quick and easy assembly makes this perfect for that old but important hard drive that you need to replace in your notebook.
Likes:1. Solidly-built aluminum case. I have an older notebook hard drive in one right now, running a surface check. The case has gotten warm but not hot. That helps protect the drive.2. Very good USB3 cable, great length. I hate short cables, my desk is crowded and sometimes an external drive needs to sit a few feet away from my laptop.Dislike:Fitting the end of the case in with drive attached was a bit difficult. The little screwdrivers are cute, but I had to use a real screwdriver and press hard on the case end to get it to seat properly.Notes1. It's USB-A on both ends, not USB-C.2. It works fine with Linux. They need to update their description.3. Haven't tried their tech support. Registering for an account there wasn't as intuitive as it could be, but worth if for to extend the warranty.4. About storage. I'm using old notebook hard drives, 500GB. I presume if you can physically fit the notebook drive into the case, the case can handle any capacity drive.
This worked great on my desktop and solved a major problem I was having with a joystick so - no complaints.
My old laptop had some failing hardware but a good drive. So I used the case to convert my old laptop battery into an USB storage device. installation was real easy. Plug the little control board to the drive, drop the drive into the case and screw the lid on. The screws are a bit finicky due to its size but it was not to difficult to do. The drive fist really snug in the case. There is not much shock absorption so I would not throw the drive to much around especially when it is plugged in and running. This case was aluminum not plastic as some folks reported. Solid touch and feel to it. What is nice is the drive has a regular USB receptacle so using standard cables are an option. It came with a USB cable so it was ready to use after dropping the drive in it. I did not notice any issues. I was able to copy a couple of hundred Gigabyte back and forth and I was able to reformat the drive to get rid of the windows operating system that was still on in. I really like this as a solution to reduce computer waste. Reusing computer parts and saving money at the same time is a great benefit. Plus, when recycling the computer I know no one can get sensitive information from it since I kept the drive with my data. One little side note, they even supplied a baby sized screwdriver to use for the two screws. Nice touch and useful for folks who done have all the tools. Also there was a travel pouch that came with it. All in all a really nice product. I highly recommend it.
This is a great hub. It doesn't take up much space, and the 7 ports are terrific. I unpacked it, set it up, connected my peripherals, and I was good to go. Highly recommend.
A little too narrow. Did not fit my laptop hard drive
Has everything I need to install my SSD.
Works great for my music gear. I would not recommend it for HDs.
nothing to dislike
I use this to manage multiple peripherals on my PC. For example, I prefer to turn my camera and lights off when not in use. Easy to do with push buttons. This is a solid piece of equipment and appears it will stand up over time. I had earlier purchased a Sabrent four-button USB hub and got years of use, but now needed more capacity. My only wish would be that they would have a model that had the USB input on the side rather than the top.
Product works great, turned my internal hard drive into an external hard drive and that was all I was hoping for! Product is well made, easy plug and play pretty much, and now I have a new 1 terabyte hard drive I can plug into anything. So nice that it also came with a USB cable!
Easy to use, like it.
I do like this cover; I have already dropped it a couple of times but have had no issues; I like that the cord is just an old, ordinary usb on both ends for a change. The one issue to be aware of is that the hard drive too easily slips out, which is why I have dropped it at least once (when I realized then I am more careful). If there is a way to secure it, I must have missed it. The usb fits very snug, which I like, but when I go to unplug the cord form the various computers I use, the hard drive slides right out with the cord. I have made my peaceful resolution with this issue and other than that, I am satisfied.
I love the number of ports and b that I can individual turn them on and off. So far I have not seen any lag in any of the items I have plugged in. This a great hub for the money, highly recommend.
Nice little enclosure. It is very easy to get an SSD installed.
A year ago I didn't even know you could run out of "power" with a USB hub. Live and learn. At 36 watts, I don't think I'll be running out with this one. The individual buttons are convenient too.
The case of my old USB-1 drive had deteriorated (gotten gummy) so I replaced the case with this one. The drive now mounts much faster than it used to and swapping cases was easy. This Sabrent case did more than I expected, so what’s not to like?
Nothing to dislike ... it does exactly what it is advertised to do !
As advertised
Good product
Does the basics just as you want plus very nice toggle buttons for each port.
I use it as an external mobile hard drive box.
I bought the latest version, with the USB-C SCSI (UASP) interface, to "retire" my 1TB laptop drive that was upgraded to 2TB into. It really is very nice. Plugged into a USB-C port, it rips right along.Compact, and sharp looking brushed aluminium. Comes with a little "wallet." Happy little tiny blue LED activity light. Really nothing not to like, here.
This has been a solid Hub that has worked really well I love the fact that I can turn off a device with the push of a button. The lights are a little bit too bright, but other than that it is great
I currently work off of a Microsoft Surface for all of my photography work. Because I work from an external hard drive, it takes up the one and only USB-A port on my surface, making it impossible to utilize any other tool, like SD card readers or my LoupeDeck system. I initially purchased a non-powered hub, which did not allow for use of my hard drive. This USB hub solved my problems instantly! Right out of the box, I plugged it in along with my hard drive and card reader and was all set to go. Works exactly how I needed it to. My only gripe would be that I wished the cords were longer, but this will suffice for what it's worth.
