The Sabrent USB-to-serial adapter arrived promptly, was reasonably priced, and works as advertised. I purchased it to connect older Garmin GPS receivers to legacy National Geographic TOPO! software.
Initially had trouble getting it working on a Windows XP netbook. Ultimately resolved the problem by installing the appropriate FTDI driver and changing the assigned COM port from COM16 to COM1.
The cable was never the problem. Happy with the purchase and would recommend it.
Works perfectly well ... when all other cables have failed.
works great and it got here real fast
Everything was perfect
Item as described and arrived on time. Works with Window 8.1 64-bit. The chipset in this will allow you to make serial connections via putty, telnet, etc.
I was looking for a USB to RS232 adapter that was not based on the Prolific chipset, this fit the requirements.
I was deciding between this and the Keyspan and ended up going with this as I've read people have had Keyspans stop working eventually. This one worked right away after downloading drivers from the manufacturer website. Was able to console into my Cisco device with no issues.
